I can’t see the point. Don’t all E89’s only have the engine designation on the front wings anyway? Hard to say without knowing what you’re trying to achieve.

If you really want to do it, a hairdryer is the best tool to have.

Debadging used to be a no cost option on BMW's. As I don't really spec new ones it may not be an option many choose now?

Has its merits in my opinion and it keeps the buggers guessing...

I often debadge cars. In the event that I sell the car the owner has the option of adding it back which is just fine .

First thing I did to mine. The offset Z4 on the rear bothered my OCD and the wing script “sDrive 35iS” was just too messy. Much cleaner debadged and very easy to do (heat up the badges with a hairdryer to soften the adhesive and use dental floss to “saw” the badges off, remove residue with white spirit)

Yes, it’s still an option you can tick.

I don't hate the badging around the car, I was just thinking about a cleaner look. If you look at the front wings they are relatively small but look cluttered.

I will give it some thought.

First thing I did was de-badge mine, for the sole reasons that it makes it easier to clean and looks neater.

If your name is Garry, why not get a Gaz plate or something?

Steady on, without the OP there wouldn't be material for the "st reg plates" thread.

It's your car, if you want to de-badge - De-badge it.

99.9% of people:

A) won't even notice.

and

B) Won't care.

0.1% of people will look at the exhausts, and work out which version it is most likely to be ( and more than likely still won't care)

At the end of the day, as nice as it is (I have loved the E89 Z4 since the day it was unveiled - It is such a beautiful looking car!), it's now an older BMW, that very few people even notice on the road.

The days when people cared about what engine you really had are long gone!

I personally think cars look cleaner without and better to polish. I’ve had cars that were debadged and thought they looked better but currently mine isn’t debadged and I’ve left it.
Do what you think not what anyone else thinks. Even over your plate, if you like it do it. Your the one who owns it and drives it.

There are many reasons not to do that

At last someone who has read and answers the question. Comments noted and thank you.

PS for the few the number plate belongs to my wife Joanne Johnson.
What's the N70 about? Is she north of 70 years old?
