Ok, lets have a proper objective review of what seems to be a really detested brand smile

So, it's full electric? What do they RRP at? Whats it like inside?

most things said about the ZS are very positive, and it offers great value for what it is

the biggest problem most people have is getting the plug into the semi concealed charging port

All in good time sir. smile.

It is full electric, no ICE here. List price is £30,995 before the PiCG, so £27,995, but I’m paying £22,500 including the £500 for metallic paint.

Interesting choice of car, sir.

What made you decide on an MG over a Kia and the like?

I haven't been inside of the newer MG lineup and I know nothing about them. Presumably made in China?

Why MG over Kia/Hyundai? Circa £10,000 give or take a couple smile.

(The gap isn’t as large with their petrol engine models!)

The owners on the Facebook group seem very happy with theirs, although they do complain they bong a lot

There was a software update a few months ago to remediate the bongs - massive criticism came because (some/most) MG dealers were charging labour for it though.

The demonstrator I drove yesterday had it applied and it was relatively bong free hehe

Could it be a cable of some description? Does look like a crack though.

laugh it’s alright I’ll claim on my insurance for a replacement windscreen

.... it is a cable. They have some kind of weird battery isolator hooked up to all of their new cars, they use the emergency key to get in and then pressing a button on the box attached to the cable turns the power on long enough to shunt them around.

Their ICE cars that were new and unregistered had the same setup

Had confirmation earlier that my Ohme commando to type 2 charging cable is en route, good timing since I’ll be taking delivery of this on Wednesday!

Trying to get the dealer to register it on my private plate so I don’t need to arse around later.... proving more difficult than it should.

Ordered some stick on tat for it already. Third cheaper than at a dealer for genuine parts will do.

Here we go!

Journey home was excellent. It munches the volts a bit at 70mph on the motorway but not too bad. GOM seems fairly accurate compared with the one in the i3

Lane departure warning seems a bit keen. Have turned it off for now.

Looks alright does that.

Is this how SAIC are going to (re)grow the MG brand, attractively priced (cf other marques) EVs ?

Be interested to read your real world experience with this. What's the claimed range & charging time ?
