Quick update - for anyone looking to register on the forum, the facebook group is the way to go. Mods on there will let you in, and the group itself is probably more active than the forum

I had the pleasure of owning that Teg as well! Loved it and wish I’d never sold it (house deposit) let it go way too cheap!

Would’ve loved to of know the previous owners, when I picked it up it had a faded motor sport sticker on it so assumed it had been used as a track experience car or similar.

Had loads of pics, but think they are all on an old phone! Good times man!

^ Doesn't matter what colour these are. Absolutely beautiful! Oh and that S2000 is a stunner too.

Oh wow!

Yes it was a Palmer Sport car (if my memory serves me right). Certainly it was used for that sort of thing. These cars wee quite "notorious" on the teg forums at the time and people were very wary of them.

I bought it approved used from Honda and it had a new gearbox as part of the deal as - surprise, surprise - after such a hard start to life it was not the best.

I sold it in 2002 or 2003 I can't quite remember as the need for more family and dog friendly transport took over (changed it for a Civic vti estate). Checking the MOT history despite the hard start in life it had a good innings.

When did you own it? I'm pleased that it was owned by at least one other enthusiast smile

I have great memories of the car and would love another to tuck away for high days and dry days.

Would’ve been a good decade ago now, from a dealer down south. I was completely oblivious to its reputation and following at the time and went in purely on looks. It led me down a wonderful path of JDM culture and ownership and I learnt a hell of a lot about the car and the scene during those days.

It was a little but pink, but apart from that completely standard and in good condition. If I’d known what I do about them now it would’ve stayed that way.

The young me had other ideas and set about sourcing all sorts of bling. Mugen Intake, twin loop, spoon callipers, Volks, coil overs, JDM manifold, full rebush (went hard race bar the RTA that I kept oem)... the list goes on.

I did try and keep to a club sport, oem+ Theme, but I imagine it’s tantamount to heresy these days!

Apart from a leaky rear light gasket and a leaky power steering pipe, it never missed a beat.

Sold it for 5k with everything on, so gutted as I should’ve stripped it back to oem and put it in a garage! Hindsight is alway 20/20. Real good to reminisce though! Thanks for posting that picture!

Cracking thread and cracking cars smile

I've just put mine back on the road after a few months rest due to salty roads, fitted a new Tegiwa Ali rad and gave it a good clean, exciting times!

Damn! These still look amazing.

I had an Accord Type R back in 2002 and was offered a straight swap for a black DC2. Turned it down as it didn't have AC cry

I did exactly the same thing albeit mine was to swap my CRX... Couldn't have one of these without aircon really....

My ATR had no aircon; hated it laugh

An actual update on my car!

It's back from TGM, finally. The Spoon N1 back box is on - sounds great in VTEC, crackling on the overrun and everything. Maybe a bit too loud at around 40mph sadly, but it's actually ok on the motorway and I can always swap the OEM back box on.

The reason it was at the garage for so long (November to March!) was because the body shop was all booked up but I wanted to get the bubbles on the rear arch fixed. They checked inside the car behind the trim, which is apparently where it usually starts, and found some corrosion, so I've had it all sorted.

The only thing life bodywork-wise is the bonnet, which has a some bubbles along the front. I need to find a replacement, and I'm considering a carbon fibre one as it won't rust and will be lighter - I'll have it repainted black to look standard. But I'm not ruling out an OEM, it's just that they're like hen's teeth with no rust.

Also had the car undersealed after all the bodywork was done. Just in time for some good weather and lockdown restrictions easing - hope to get out on some track days when possible.

I found the Spoon N1 exhaust too loud for my my liking. Did enjoy the crackling on the overrun though. I did get the Spoon exhaust Bung which does suppress the noise but apparently restricts power a little but you may want to try that and see how you get on.

Were the weather strips put back on after the the repairs from what I can see in the picture?

That rubber was on there before the repair so I guess they've just put it back how it was before.

I see.....most owners tend to have them removed - Integra, Civics, S2000 owners as it tends to encourage corrosion when it traps moisture and grit between the strip and the panel so just something to be aware of, if you're not. It's removed on both of my Hondas also. You can do some research on that if you wish.

In place of that, you can have some rubberised stone chip protector paint applied to prevent stone chips.

Completely agree, it looks much better without the strip. Keep the car clean once the repair work has been done and it’s all gravy

A matter of opinion. I think it looks better fitted- certainly on a white car where it’s obvious to see if it has been removed.

The important part is to remove old item, thoroughly clean & then refit a new replacement after applying plenty of waxoyl (or equivalent protection)..

its all subjective of course, I think that goes without saying. I personally think it looks worse on a white car (more so than any other colour) to be honest too and it's not standard either

look at this beautifully exposed rear arch in standard form, i was fortunate not to have any rust on mine but if I did I'd rather repair and repaint

Each to their own.

For me- a factory standard UK example with standard wheels & tyres looks complete with the factory rubber trims fitted.

Mudflaps additionally help the car to look more squat imo & work very well

Spot on aesthetically imo

That’s my old car, I wish I’d never got rid! Still running well?
