Years ago when I had a C2 and a colleague had an old Omega he used as a shed for business use, he used to joke that we both had to park around the corner at customer sites although for opposite reasons.

I've been to a meeting in an offensively loud yellow Seicento instead of my usual sober German saloon. In my defence it was because I was on my way to a track day the next day.

I wonder how many posts it will take to get to 'I had no choice, other than to take the Zonda'.

My Aston Vantage was pretty inappropriate for home visits as a GP for two years. I'm far more sensible these days!

My Abarth 595 attracted quite a few negative comments. There were a few positive ones from those that knew what it was but people mostly thought I'd stuck a noisy exhaust on a fiat 500.

Taking an early lead there.

My 645ci didn't go down well with the North London hipsters when I used to visit the Hendon and Islington branches a few year back.

My civic Type r fk8 was a bit of a concern at first. Thought my boss would go loopy but picked her up from the station for first meeting since getting it and she loved it. Customers also lots of positive comments, some giggles, but certainly was an ice breaker on the way to that sometimes awkward customer lunch that seems hell of a long time ago now....

I don’t get why a 911 is inappropriate? It’s just a red 911, there were countless of them where I used to work from 912 - 991 in the visitor spaces and the car park.

I turned up in a Camaro SS once, bright red.

A 1993 lowered / modified MK1 MX5 as there was an issue with my hire car, I was leading an assessment so it didn’t look great, saying that nor did my ancient Alfa 166.

I got a few nice comments when I had to go in my Vantage to one site.

I used to work for a small firm and the owners both drove supercars, we got some feedback from potential clients that they were a bit flash, which made us appear expensive.
The solution was a £800 Mondeo, of course this had the opposite affect and I did enjoy the road trips in the supercars way more than the Mondeo with the creaky suspension and a smell of old damp dog

The day after picking up my Maserati Grantourismo I thought I'd use it for a survey of a pub I was doing. Hid it at the back of the car park but was spotted by the client as I got out of the car.
His first comment was the inevitable 'you're going to charge me too much' so I decided to keep the e46 Bmw for work & use the maser for high days & holidays only.

Way back when a friend of mine had an original CLS on contract hire, he'd visit clients in the car and got wind that many thought he was a bit "flash", he was concerned about the image he was giving so when the contract came up he went for an Audi A6, the negative comments stopped, ironically the Audi was more expensive than the CLS.

Tatty-looking, stripped and caged MK6 Fiesta with an engine swap, custom exhaust and choo-choo noises... Somehow I have 4 cars and this is the only one at the moment!

Pre-COVID I’d visit clients semi-regularly in this. It actually surprised me how few commented on it.

Transit custom 1 ton van.

Most of the local councils are actively preventing road use in the belief I should be somehow transporting about 500kg of tools and materials on a bicycle or bus.

My mate who is a GP has just done the same - V8 Vantage convertible. I think he borrows the Mrs.' car when he knows he needs to do home visits, ha.

Do you not? Well, context is everything. If it hadn't been a fellow ph'er, it woud have drawn a few tut-tut's rather than some 'bants'. It's by no means exotic - it's merely a red 911, but stuck out a bit!
