Dacia Duster, 999cc of Throbbing Fun
Discussion
We have owned our Duster 1.0 since November 22 and other than the interior light not working it has been faultless, we don’t even have an issue with the warranty claim to be fair.
I found ours jerky when cold, but it has improved massively now we have put some miles on it, so I would suggest giving it time.

Anyone with the steel wheels had the paint finish last more than a few years? Trying to understand if they all fail? Mines in for its new set under warranty on Tuesday.
Definitely a case of they all do that sir. Long term its probably best to find a good powder coater locally.

I would be waiting on a new shape Duster now if I were in the market.
Isn't it hybrid only? I'd avoid that as a private purchase personally. Plus they've dropped physical HVAC controls which rules it outright for me. So mine will be my last Duster. Which isn't a chore as I've got very attached to it. PositronicRay said:
Love the colour, our 1.0 is jerky from cold, I think it's just how they are. Lean fueling to aid emmisions figures perhaps.
This (and the other comments regarding the jerkiness) is reassuring, thank you, first engine i've had of this type really so i'll just have to get used to these quirks. Shinyfings said:

The drivers seat on mine feels like it's got even more play in it these days. Going to have to brave the dealer again before the warranty runs out.
Got the cold shoulder the first time I took it in.
Try Dacia Customer Services and don’t take no for an answer.Got the cold shoulder the first time I took it in.
So after 3 years of throbbing fun in what was an amazing little SUV, 16300 miles up and down the UK, my within London commute, countless dump runs, moving friends and taking my daughter to University, I have just walked home from WBAC with £9300 added to my Bank account.
£300 more than what the dealer of my new car offered in part ex.
Pretty good for a car that cost me £10500 brand new. No problems and after a good clean it looked brand new again.
All I could find was a stone chip on the front of the bonnet and some paint missing from the rear steel wheels.
3rd service was due and the tax had run out but I wasn't penalised for that.
I feel quite sad though

Well, on Monday I’ll need to contact the dealer to book mine back in to fix the fan blower resistor thing again ….. for the 5th time in under 2 years!!
Yes but there’s nothing wrong with the part and it’s not a known issue according to one of our resident Renault/Dacia salesmen. I was basically called a BS merchant for having the temerity to suggest it was. Then someone suggested it wasn’t the switch it is the resistor that is controlled by the switch which is clearly just nit picking as from a driver’s perspective it is the switch that doesn’t carry out its function. I learned after two failures to just not leave it running on fan speed 1. I was told that it would keep failing if I did. This problem has been going on since the days of Megane and Laguna but hey I’m just making it up.

Good trade in Croyde. Mine lost £1300 in 2.5 yrs and 55k miles. We got them before car prices rocketed so rode a fair wind. What have you gone for now?
Gone a bit mad. Really loved my Fiat 500 hybrid rental whilst in Tenerife, despite it's asthmatic engine thus started researching Abarths. So next week I pick up a new Abarth 695 Competizione. The last of a few with manual boxes.
Only robotised manual can be ordered now and next year only electric.
So I'm hoping it might not depreciate much and be another sensible car purchase.
So from 70bhp Fiat to 180bhp Abarth. Should be a laugh
