MK2 fiesta fast road car.
Discussion
Alright so little update, sorry I've been off the radar. House move and work have been keeping me busy.
On Thursday I took the car to Northampton Motorsport for a final tune. Really happy with the out come. She made 159.9 bhp . After tweaking some driveability issues, and fitting the filters. She settled at 150bhp.
The mid range now really strong. And it sounds so. Good.
Still waiting on quaife to run a batch of BC diffs. She will be an absolute beast onces that's installed.

Agree with everyone else, reads absolutely fine, the car looks great and is exactly how i wanted to do a Mk2 Fiesta myself, never got around to doing it though, i see you must be fairly local to me, as i know Botley very well!!!
I'm in sarisbury green, just about to move about near parkgate. Thanks, I've been on PH long enough to know there's a few militant grammar starzi around.

So I've still not had chance to actually use it post tune, which is abit sad. After I left Northampton. I was in traffic. Had a few cheeky little WOT runs. But somewhere between the M1 and the M40 I managed to snap the throttle linkage. At the time I felt a click under my foot. I assumed the cable had just slipped.
Everything felt ok and it was still driving good(just with 60-70%. Travel). There was a slight rattle on overrun. (When the cable was slack) . It sounded like when the coolant return hose touches the bonnet release. If you knock the hose when working on it it makes the bonnet release rattle. And as Troy had bee in and out of the bay all day I figured it was that.
I didn't get a photo on the car (I'm rubbish at this). But here's the aftermath
After a quick chat with eurocarb to confirm this linkage would fit. I've spent the morning fitting it and rebalancing the carbs. More work than it should have been. Couple of other niggles needed sorting. The ideal screw was bodged by the previous carb owner. So that needed a proper fix. And the linkage kit needed a little massaging to fit between the carbs.
Although eurocarb did me a kipper on the fuel hoes, the linkage hits it. You will see the janky angles in the pictures to miss the linkage. I've ordered some banjos with a bigger offset, To miss it properly.
Not all bad though. as even though I'd checked the throttle levers on the carbs, they had enough play to cause them to go out of balance each run, much to troys frustration. And the new kit has new ones
Treated her to a wash as it was a pretty damp run on Thursday. And our longest trip, with a good 4-5hours in the road. My backs still sore
Also a glimpse of the new garage. Bit more work Todo but think I have it laid out pretty good already.

Don't feel bad about the idea of selling, just make sure you start a thread on your next car yes the show it was used for is goblin works mod shop. its a proper for TV thing that, to quote Jimmy deville himself 'were just meat puppets'
Little update, and there's a few more bits in the post.
The quaife finally arrived. So got the box off to my local gearbox specialist.
Got the box out in pretty decent time even without a lift, took just over an hour. I was also faffing about trying to keep the freshly painted floor clean!
Picked the box up the following Saturday, and immediately fitted it. much to the annoyance of swmbo. As I was due to go kite surfing in the afternoon too, Cashed all of my points in in one day.
I new it would make a difference, but Jesus Christ. It a freaking animal now. It pulls so hard out of corners and actually tightens the line. Almost caught myself out thinking she would wash wide, when instead she went straight for the curb at the apex.
I've had quaifes before but never noticed it to this effective, and violent in the power delivery. I'm guessing it's a combination of the light weight and incredible throttle response.
Genuinely feel like I'm getting close to some kind of finish or end game.
Some more fun bit coming in the post.
Very rare B&M quick shifter.
Tubular trailing arms
Digital dash
And a treat for me, has to be one of my favourite steering wheels of all time. I might not be the perfect choice for the car but there so beautiful.
