This has been for sale for about a year, I have worked in Lymington this week maybe next time I should pop in and take a look (if I could find out where it is).

Oliver.

Isn't this a very sensible price for one of these, especially with this mileage and , (alleged) condition?

The painted bolts is how they were from the factory.

It probably wants some time and not too much money spending on it to be a very presentable unrestored car and got to be worth the money when an basket case early M can make 12k.

I advertised a complete but dismantled early M on ebay last month but it didn’t make anywhere near £12k.

I didn't think that they made the 2500M in 77 or thereabouts?

Is the 3000M more desirable?

Yes 1600M and he says it's faster than a 3000M.
That depends on driving style and what you want to do. High rev screamer or V6 torque, personal choice.
I've had both and for me at my age and what i want to do it's not a screamer.
Price looks correct, nice car.

Weird that. Up to middle age I just wanted a V8 for all the reasons frequently said. Then I started to get bored of driving lazy V8's that would never give any feeling of urgency. The last 10 years I've really enjoyed my revvy little 4-pot Crossflow and don't have any desire (currently) to go back to the world of V8's.

In fact hearing the scream of a BD engined rally escort for me is pure ecstasy - nothing else comes close.
