Great thread, and useful too! There’s something about these, I’ve wanted one for ages so when this appeared locally this week for £500 spares or repairs I took a gamble and bought it blind. It’s actually much better than expected but I guess worst case scenario it’s probably worth that in parts. Hoping that’s avoidable though and can get it roadworthy!
Got to be worth a punt!
What's up with it? For £500 I'd assume terminal engine/gearbox problem or rust.
Or all the above.

ABS light on, no handbrake. Was running fine a month ago but seller said it was lumpy/noisy since being stood. Doesn’t sound too bad to me, just a little tappy. Coolant doesn’t look great though and a bit smelly which is the only worry. No rot though sills look mint and the rear axle is much like the OP’s.

Very well thanks, it’s my new daily! It needed a new exhaust, both ARB droplinks, and a pair of new handbrake cables and now has a fresh MOT. The coolant was actually ok just the expansion tank was filthy, so I’ve changed that along with a coolant change and oil/filter and it runs like a dream!
So much fun to drive I’m quite smitten smile

Tonight was the last remaining job on my TODO list, gearbox oil change.

Infact all i ended up doing was topping up the oil as only got 300ml in after opening what i thought was the drain plug - obviously not!

Any 100HP owners car to enlighten me where the drain plug is? its not the bottom on in the picture

Looks like a drain plug to me.
I once helped an acquaintance with an arbarth on a trackday, there was a second plug round the back, almost in line with the bolts holding the gearbox casing to the block. It stood out as it had a allen key socket in the head.

Excellent work. Out of interest, is the gear oil change to address a specific issue? Mine has the common problem of notchy 3rd gear, there are some who suggest an oil change may help? Thanks!!

Some fresh, good quality oil won't hurt and it pretty cheap and easy to do. When was the gearbox oil last changed?

Thanks. I assume it the original oil from 2007, 120k miles ago. It can’t hurt! Are there any service items with a gearbox oil change? Filter or gasket? Thanks

Time for some new Bosch wipers, old bosch ones were traditional design and started dragging / screeching, so went for some aerotwin ones, much better looking

Gave the panda a quick clean, along with some aqua wax which is easy to apply to a wet car, impressed with this stuff.

Took a 250 mile round trip (38mpg) in the panda today and sneaked over the border into Scotland.

Impressed with the panda for the trip, it does everything i need!

Just ticked over to 121k today too
