[quote=Mr Roper]Excellent build and plenty to learn from so cheers!
Picked up my 250 Cup in ‘club sport’ spec today and I’m still grinning.
Thanks getting there with the car and I should have it finished at start of next year so will finally be able to drive it .
What has been done to your 250 cup as I can see a CAE and some other nice looking bits .

Another week and another new part installed on the car .
After speaking to a few people / tuners about what are the best upgrades to install on the Megane i was pointed in the direction of a rear anti roll bar .
After reading about information on the front anti roll bar the 250 Megane is 20mm and the 250 Cup model has an upgraded thicker 22mm front anti roll bar so upgrading the front will not be needed and just the rear is advised to add less rear end roll and make the rear end more stable at higher speeds .
There are a few different options out there for the RARB but in the end i went for the Whiteline RARB kit .
The RARB kit attaches to the rear beam so this needed to have the coilovers removed before install .
Then it was just a matter of installing the new RARB and mounting plates and the job was complete .
I have set this to the softer setting ( x 3 bolts installed ) and will see how i get on and can then run the firmer setting if needed .

Next on the list of things to do on the car was to update the exhaust system .
The car came with a GT performance exhaust and to be fair there was nothing wrong with this apart from being a little too loud for me even tho it is nothing too extreme .
The GT performance was removed but one of the slip joins was not coming off for love or money so i had to cut this off .
Old exhaust removed .
I had a good look at what systems were out there and what would be best for what i wanted and in the end went for a Scorpion system for a few reasons .
One being that i can get the system with a centre silencer as well as the back box to make a quite system and then have also ordered the non silenced centre pipe so i can have both options .
The other reason is that i have had Scorpion exhausts before and have always likes the build and noise they make .
New Scorpion exhaust system
The back box on the new Scorpion system is much larger than the GT performance one so should reduce the noise a fair bit .
The old GT performance exhaust is a 2.75 inch system and the Scorpion system is a 3 inch system so this should free up the gas flow a little .
Then it was just a matter of fitting the system on the car and i have become a master of fitting parts upside down on my back with bugger all access so this all went together well with no problems .
I went for the straight centre pipe with the back box to see how this would sound and if this is a little too loud i can then fit the silenced centre section if needed .

I had the scorpion 3 non res exhaust on mine. Was perfect noise wise (imo) with the standard cat still in place. Build quality was great too with basically no corrosion after years of use.
I had issue with it catching the rear bumper heat shield where the exhaust turns and goes through the middle of it. Needed a bit of adjustment to give enough clearance as it would rattle against it when the engine moved on its mounts.

Hi Alan,
Ian and I have booked Bedford late march as a shakedown, if you fancy joining? It's pretty cheap at the moment:

I also have the scorpion de cat so my one will be a touch louder but sounds nice on idle and a little rev .I had issue with it catching the rear bumper heat shield where the exhaust turns and goes through the middle of it. I will give it a full test when the car is back on the road and if it is to loud I will swap over the straight pipe for the silanced mid pipe .

I LOVE scorpion systems and have had them on nearly every car. Only issue with the I30n is they lose power with them but scorpion kindy removed the graphs off their site showing this now.
Still tempted though lol
Did not know they lost power on the I30N .Still tempted though lol
I had a Remus system on my old I30N and that was lovely so would recommend it if you ever fancy a change .

Another week and another new part installed on the car .
To install the new exhaust the lower chassis brace had to be removed and this was looking a little bit tired and is not that strong so i set about looking to see what was on offer as a replacement / upgrade .
OEM 2 point lower chassis brace .
After looking at a few options i ordered an Ultra Racing 4 point lower chassis brace .
The Ultra Racing units isa 4 point brave vs the 2 point of the OEM unit and is also much stronger / thicker but still very light .
Then it was just on to the matter of installing this on the car .
I have run this lower brace set up on a few cars and have been very happy so i will see how i get on with this and give some feed back when the car is back on the road .
