One of my dream cars has always been a TVR T350 like this one.

I’m about to turn 50 and it’s become obvious that’s not going to happen! So drastic compromises to budget have been made and the search for an acceptable substitute was on.

I think this is a great affordable replacement: Straight Six engine, rear wheel drive, two seats, long bonnet short tail coupe, it’s blue…OK I’m stretching it a bit!

I just drove this one home on Saturday and loved every minute of it. It’s got a lot of miles on it (143K) very little stamped service history, 5 days MOT and a power steering problem so it was cheap. Oh and it’s an Automatic.

On the positive side I’ve got a log of loads of owner servicing history, receipts, a good MOT history, Bilstein B12 kit with Eibach springs and matched Goodyear F1 tyres. In short it’s clear it’s been well cared for. The Auto box works well and was necessary anyway so my wife can drive it. The power steering fault has not yet appeared.

I ordered service kit yesterday and it needs an MOT at the end of the week. That’s about all it requires at the moment. Really looking forward to some trips up to the north of Scotland in it.

Nice! T350 was never going to happen if an autobox was needed! Z4 Coupe is a great looking thing though. The N52 is a cracking engine also!

Missed that the OP said he needed an auto confused

Hope you get to the bottom of the power steering issue OP, also interested as to why it's got a Z4M front bumper on it.

Not 100% required but it's easier if we have two cars that we can both drive. I've still got my Tasmin if I feel the need for a manual box.

The power steering problem seems fairly common to these cars. Apparently it's a £300 fix with a lifetime guarantee, so I'm not too worried about it.

According the the records that came with the car the Z4M bumper was fitted in 2015 by a previous owner. It's very low and I'm sure I'll whack it off a kerb at some point.

Go for a hydralic PAS conversion, it transforms the steering feel.

Details on the Z4 forum.

It’s a great choice and on my list. If you were drunk and squinted it’s very similar to the T350 wink

I really like those. I'm not generally a BMW fan but the Z4 Coupe and the breadvan are two of the ones that I do like. Following with interest.

I'm not seriously comparing the T350 with the Z4 🤣but I'm old enough to remember the Triumph GT6 being called the poor man's E-Type. Come to think of it, it's like a modern version of the GT6.

It's a very nice thing anyway and I'm really chuffed with it so far. At £5750 I'm pretty sure I got a good deal.

Bargain. Won’t decrease much if anything. A lot of car for the money.

I always wanted to swap the Cerbera for a T350 as well(in an ideal world).

Your Z4 Coupe looks lovely and I'm a massive fan of the shape. cloud9

Yours is a very nice colour combo too. Enjoy it. thumbup

I love the Z4 coupe and yours is a great colour combo. They’re even a car that my other half can get excited about and she was well up for changing her 125i cab for one this year until we decided to be sensible and sort an officer in the garden instead.

The N52 is a cracking engine (I’m on my third). Does this have the ZF gearbox? Is there any record of it being serviced? The ZF6 in my 335i is loads better after a service.

love the Z4 Coupe, had a test drive in one before i bought my chimaera. lovely smooth 6 pot - was slightly worried I would end up racing everywhere to keep the engine on song, putting my licence in jeopardy

It's just went through the MOT with the only advisories beings the front tyres. Very pleased with that.

I've ordered a load of service parts so I'll get that done sometime. I'm away on holiday next week.

I think I'll get a gearbox oil an filter change done as well as changing the diff oil.
