I recently bought a rusty E46 325ti (the compact one) with the intention of having some fun with it in some future events and making a mini-series on Youtube.

Its not the prettiest thing in the world but it runs (now) and drives in enough of a straight line that it is usable. I've already done some stupid stuff with it but I'm still editing the video together.

Just watched your video and subscribed to your channel for updates. Those lowering springs are bad; it looks broken it’s so low.

I had a 325ti of the same vintage albeit silver with black leather. I liked the car but it was a bit of a pain in the arse.

Good luck with it.

They were snapped and one of the control arms was bent. Even stty lowering springs aren't supposed to be that low haha

Ok so the plan was to go racing and that involved getting the car up to standard on the cheap. I had forgotten how rusty cars from Scotland can be.

That’s proper grotty underneath. Did you have to fight loads of crusty, seized bolts to add to the fun?

It wasn't as bad as I'd thought. There were a few 16mm bolts that ended up with a 15mm hammered on to get them off but surprisingly, no snapped bolts. My biggest issue was being on my back under the car with rust raining down into every crevice.

So we successfully completed the 4 Hours of Most Endurance race in the Czech Republic. Pretty impressed the old cooling system had no issues since that was the only thing I was worried about. Wasn't the fastest team on the track but still had a huge amount of fun.
