Sorry to see the diff problems persist, but it does look like you had an epic time at Cadwell. It's definitely the favourite track I've ridden, and being there on a small engined bike with great handling, I feel your pain about getting held up in the corners by stuff that then pushes off on the straights...
Good luck with the investigations.

got the new diff out and its definitely wearing.

these little shiny lines are a step in the face of the tooth that i can feel with my finger. which is bonkers what is supposed to be a freshly built rear end.
Are you using the same person/company to build your diffs into the housings? Setting up the CWP mesh and backlash is a skilled job, made even more difficult if you're using a 2nd hand crownwheel/pinion, where it may be next to impossible to get a nice contact pattern on the gear teeth. Whining noises at high speeds are usually caused by the gear mesh rather than the diff itself, although a plated LSD will cause plenty of other racket going round corners. I've just fitted a 3J plated LSD to my car, and there's no whining, but it's embarrassing driving round town with all the clunking and groaning going round tight corners. I'm hoping it quietens down (a lot!).these little shiny lines are a step in the face of the tooth that i can feel with my finger. which is bonkers what is supposed to be a freshly built rear end.

As long as he's true to his word and refunds it. Then I think just unlucky.
Yeah the plated diff sounds broken at low speed, but it's the whine from the CWP I was concerned about.
My torsen isn't making much noise and it's not worn so I'm hopeful it can be adjusted. And them I'm going to run ep140. Which it probably overkill but I think the way the car is used it will help it. Can always go back to ep 90 if I don't like it.

Thats scary for 500miles, even with track use!
Any other diff options you could look at?
Well my diff guys gone on holiday. But there is nothing wrong with my old one apart from a little bit of noise. So it should be able to be adjusted. O perhaps that's the new normal it's not bad at all you can just perceive a slight whine which you couldn't. .and yeah the plated diff was really nice to drive. But the torsen is bad. I suspect I will eventually want to change the ratios with the f20. So might go for one then.

I'm going you try ep140 as well as I can't see what the negative is other than fuel economy which isn't really a factor here.
Another question as I've been cleaning up everything getting it ready for rebuilding is I noticed the half shafts are probably 20mm different. I don't think it matters. They slot all the way in no problem But maybe there supposed to be handed ?

another little upgrade , as I'm off in a trip in it in, on Sunday.

these guys are pretty local to me, and had everything to do all the bulbs in LED. its much much brighter. than the candles it had

not driven it yet hopefully be much mor visible on the road, and better for me as the headlights were terrible.
ive decided to go with the sliding plates for the roof too

just need to figer out a neat way to lash it down,

i'm not sure where to start! what a trip .

Mark Fisher (of fisher sports cars fame) organises a trip each year for the furies and anyone else who wants to join. I missed it last year as I wasn't confident enough in the car to do the trip.
I met up with Mark and Issy in their V8 fury, and John in his J15 fury (mid engined) at the Euro tunnel.

The plan was to head down to Laon, and do a track day at Folembray the following day. We jumped on the A26 for 15 mins or so to get out of Calais. Then we got off onto the country roads and spent the day heading down to Laon. i really enjoyed slowing down abit and not being in a rush.
i might start hitting no tolls and no motorways on the nav more often.

coming into Laon , my terrible phone camera. doesn't do it justice but the cathedral on the hill was really impressive as we drove into town.

3 into 2 spaces. joy of small cars.
quick shower and off to the pub to make a plan for dinner, another fury and 2 stylus's were due to meet us, and one UK exige was already in town.
unfortunately we got the news that one car wasn't going to make it due to a mishap with the law

A license confiscation meant he had to be collected by his wife. imagen that it was a quiet ride home.
Folembray. is a circuite id never herd of. on i could only find limited on boards of the track before hand. (my fench is very very basic)

its a really fun track. and its on a hill side so its a fair bit steaper than you realise.

she always looks at home on track.

my exhaust hanger melted, which means ive probaly cracked the manifold again. however it didnt stom me from carring on or getting home.
other waise the car was pretty flawless. and quite luxuirous withthe windscreen and roof.
i had a cracking day, and im quite depressed to be back at work.
ive got some videos to go through and get on you tube so ill update the tread with those and the return trip ASAP.

Sound brilliant, thanks for sharing.
I know the come down feeling well, but its part of the party, and can be damped by talking with like minded people about the trip!
What was the run in with the law, licence confiscation sounds pretty extreme.
130, in an 80 over taking i believe. as hes a french licence holder they can just confiscate it on the spot. I know the come down feeling well, but its part of the party, and can be damped by talking with like minded people about the trip!

i cant stop watching this video! she sounds so good. unfortunately its not as enjoyable a sound from the drivers seats as you get a lot more of the mechanical noise from the engine.

The weather wasn't great on the 3rd day so we had a wander around Laon which was beautiful . The cathedral there is very impressive, especially for somewhere so small.

i can't believe how much the weather turned, I actually had to put a coat on .
The trip back was pretty uneventful apart from getting caught on the a26 just outside Calais in a huge downpour. luckily i made it to the toll plaza, and could pull over. because the turbulance in the cockpit was suching the rain onto the inside of the screen.
no photos sorry as i was panakinking to get the roof on.

waiting for the train in my glorified tent.

John had the right idea.
i do have some pretty big news to share regarding the F20 swap . Unfortunately this thread and the fury will be going back up for sale!
dont worry though there will be a new thread.

Oh wow. That is impressive. Must be something about Calis. Last time i was in France in the Westfield, without roof, it came on to absolutely howl it down. We pulled up just in time to watch to earlier ferry pull away, found the loo block to be locked, and ended up sitting in the back of some randoms car after they took pity on us and the complete lack of shelter!
