So nothing major but I’ve done a little cheap fix on the common internal door handles that are made of rubber and start breaking up.
4 x covers which clip over for £12 delivered!

On the negative side, my OEM shocks and the lowering springs are a terrible mix!
At speed I’m bouncing, bottoming out on my splitter and generally the car is unsettled…. So I’ve ordered HSD coilovers, arriving tomorrow.

I’ll probably set the ride height a little higher, 5-10mm front and rear as an approximation.

Sounds a good upgrade Cliff; once dialled in and with a full tracking/alignment, they'll have the car spot on thumbup

Looking forward to seeing the pictures biggrin

Cars looking great. Think I’ll be going F31 330d next as a daily (with sensible miles on it). I do still like my E91 for everyday use. Been faultless these last 18 months and returns 7-800 miles on every tank full.

Man Flu has forced me to leave them alone for now but I’m on it ASAP.

This is my second F30 330d and I hugely regretted selling my previous one like no other car I’ve sold ever!
I was always going to buy another.

Some good news.

Stage 1 dyno remapping booked for the 29th of July, hoping to see the car go from approx 254bhp and 560nm, to approximately 310-320bhp and around 650nm.

The bonus is my gearbox is already Xhp flashed.

Nice work.

When you mentioned the door handle being in poor condition I thought you were referring to the metal section. Mine is damaged from the previous owner and BMW want £180 for it, if I recall correctly!

Interior. So the other half of the side you've changed, if that makes sense.

Just had the car remapped at Performance Remap in Gloucester. 4wd rolling road tuned.

Standard 330d power from my engine with no mods to the exhaust, produced 261bhp - 564nm - 416 ft/lb torque.

Now remapped to 326 bhp - 659nm - 485 ft/lb torque.

I’m well pleased with that, the car feels rapid, especially the 50mph to Jail time acceleration!

I’ve also made changes to my suspension. Gone are the H&R lowering springs, they were awful!
In came a set of HSD Dualtech coilovers which were simple to fit, but I had to learn about preload, which meant YouTube was my best friend for a few evenings.

The ride on the coilovers is absolutely how I wanted it to be, comfortable, not crashy, handle well in the bends etc.
money well spent.

Lastly, I’ve removed the MPerformance front splitter and fitted a more subtle Rieger lip, I think it’s perfect to be honest.

Pretty tasteful mods, although I’ve never been a fan of M wing mirrors on cars without flared arches, I say embrace the more subtle looks.

Having spent 10 years and covered over 200k miles in F3X series BMWs I think they’re fantastic cars. Never owned the 6 cylinder diesel but drove my brothers a few times. I recently stepped back into a F80 M3, and after a few years of Mercedes, Honda, Audi, and Tesla, I realised how much I miss that interior. You can’t beat analog dials with a proper motor.

Out of interest, what’s stopping you taking the Polestar to Cornwall, just the range? We took our standard range Model 3 to Devon this year, some extra planning was required but thanks to free charging at our holiday rental it was a no brainer.

That sounds and looks like a job well done Cliff. Car looks spot on and that remap sounds like it's really opened it up nicely thumbup

Have you had the car in for a full tracking and alignment after the coilovers have been fitted?

These 6 cylinder diesel engines are highly underrated, they actually sound decent on acceleration too. I am debating the mirror caps, I might lose them soon.

As for the Polestar, where we stay in Cornwall at our personal static caravan, we cannot charge there. Also, my Zapmap shows anything close by is 2kw! The 50kw charges, the few there are, are constantly out of service within a 30 mile radius of our location, so jump in the BMW, issue solved.

It’s a beautiful power increase, torque city!

I’ve done 120 miles on the coilovers on max soft settings, I’ll give them a few hundred miles to settle before I go for alignment, but I can already see my front wheels are trying to go to opposite postcodes lol

Haha yeah. Nowt better than picking a fight with the steering wheel when you want to go in a straight line biggrin

Tracking and alignment and maybe a bit of a fast road set up will have it handling superbly

I'm another one who is a big fan of a nice diesel engine too. I bet it feels great with that increase in power/torque as well. thumbup

A mapped F30 330d is an awesome road car.

I had a S-drive F30 330d from 2018-2020 which I had mapped at GKR Performance showing 331bhp and 500 lb ft so similar numbers to yours and it had an incredible mix of performance and economy.

On the motorway 55mpg+ was achievable and it had huge real world pace. I fondly recall eating an ice cream whilst doing a traffic light GP with a lad who was rowing the gearbox in his Fiesta ST as hard as he could, the look on his face when I went past with my ice cream cone in hand was priceless.
