I saw that escort cab in the early 90'S for sale at a garage in kent five oak green, they also had a white xr2 next to it that had a 2.8i fitted which must have been gartrac made also
Stuart

my blue one is under going a major overhaul at the moment,
reg no. Q828 CPE. it's definitely one of the original G6
machines. the V6 is long gone out of it though. it looks
to be the same shade of blue as Bazny's one! i must put
up some pictures of it asap, all going well it be breaking
cover in the not too distant future. i've located a
Focus ST 2.5 engine so that option is being considered
at the moment...

Slightly off topic but circa '92 I was running my Cossie and looking for a change. I was offered an XR3 which was effectively an XR3 shell placed on top of a TVR 350 chassis. The car was built in the Enfield area, was finished in white with a grey interior. I drove the car and was very impressed but it was a strict two seater and as I had a young family it wasn't practical. Fantastic car though - great concept
hi GARTRAC fans just joined this site, what can i tell you about my self ,well im the guy that built the one and only g6 convertable whitch is pictured along with the build sheet diagram,I built it back in 1985 can't belive its still going. The kit from gartrac after the brand new shell was converted to rear wheel drive had every part of the shelf ,as kits go you couldn,t of want for a better one.In back in 85 the cost wasn,t even that bad.like to no were car is now?

thats spooky - i remember that too and I even went to have a look at it, not to buy it but just to look as it was the first time I had ever seen one.Stuart
This is a great thread.
hi lads, my G6 is nearing the end of it's restoration, but i
want to put an RS1700T style rear spoiler on it, these are
nigh on impossible to get hold of these days so i'm about to
fabricate my own one from aluminium.
while i'm making one i would be more than happy to make up
a few more of them so if anyone is interested please contact
me on alan.g6@hotmail.com

Yep it sure is, ive only just noticed this post as i dont always get on here, ive owned it for a few years now and it is just the way it was originally built, the only change ive made is to fit brooklands 15 inch wheels with goodyear tyres, still has the v6 and 4 speed box fitted and red pipe seats. to be honest its a real time warp car.Its just being repainted as we speak and ive just fitted a new genuine ford hood.Edited by Bazny on Tuesday 26th April 17:51
