Are only 996 and 986s welcome in this thread? .
I’ve just got a slightly sub £7k Cayenne Turbo and it’s brilliant!, had all the main things done and has been very well looked after, love something that big being able to go that fast, don’t know why I didn’t buy one years ago instead of a Range Rover!.

Not many Cayennes on here, but you can pick up a bargain or two now, I paid just under £5k for my 3.2 and had no dramas so far.I’ve just got a slightly sub £7k Cayenne Turbo and it’s brilliant!, had all the main things done and has been very well looked after, love something that big being able to go that fast, don’t know why I didn’t buy one years ago instead of a Range Rover!.

I got told to avoid the S at all costs as apparently it has an engine which likes to self destruct, so either go for the 3.2 or the Turbo, the difference in purchase price at this level between a 3.2 and a Turbo and I only do about 6k miles a year, I thought sod it and went for the Turbo- 110k Miles FSH by Porsche then specialists, had the coolant pipes, cardan shaft, air suspension all done and it drives so much better than any other 4x4 of the era I’ve driven, only slight negative is its prodigious thirst for unleaded, first day I was a bit lead footed and 10 MPG, now I’ve started driving it a bit more normally I’m up to 15-16 MPG, but I knew what to expect .Walter Sobchak said:

I hope you don't get tired of the fuel bills. If you start to think about it then it soon makes no sense. I have a bmw 550i which can get below 20 mpg on a run if you are aggressive. It then starts to cost enough to make you think I should really drive a different car. My mate had a cayenne s for 4 years and when he sold it he said he felt like he was filling it up every day - which is madness.
It seems to average about 15MPG whilst driving normally to and from work, in the Landcruiser I used to have I was spending approx £30 a week in diesel, the Cayenne is shaping up to look like it will be £45 or so in petrol so I can live with the difference at the moment, if it all gets too much I will get a cheap commuter car, which is something I considered before even buying the Porsche.Walter Sobchak said:

You can get a 3.2S for that money, which I chose over the 2.5 & 2.7 as the insurance was CHEAPER by about £200 - I'm with Elephant and live in west London, go figure.I'm after another 986 for the £5k mark and this has caught my eye:

Just use the governments MOT history checker on every number plate before you view, some make for horror novel levels of reading
