Where does it say it's a cracked cylinder head? It's just speculation again. I'd been on boxa for a good few years now and can't remember the last time there was a post complaining about a cracked cylinder head. I'm sure theoretically it's possible but I don't think it's an epidemic.

I had a 3.2 with a cracked cylinder head. I split the engine and sold it for parts. I had plenty of interest in the good cylinder head, had about 5 people contact me asking questions or wanting the other side, all had cracked cylinder heads. This was over about a month. It's not uncommon on the early 3.2 engines. Also remember a couple of people looking for advice on Boxa.net that had cracked cylinder heads.

Also Cat D (or 'V', or something ... ) and under £10k.

Any good? Dunno. Just saw the advert elsewhere on PH and thought of this thread!

"...the car has literally had tens of thousands spent on it with the usual wear and tear repairs to a full £10k engine rebuild."

"...never skipped a beat."

Hmmm? laugh

High miles, but I present to you the £3,800 987

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

MOT history suggests it's been looked after reasonably well, and actually used as intended.

If the definition of 'Poverty Pork' is price of £10k or less then there is always this, which is somewhat at the other end of the 'desirability' scale ....

70k miles, FSH, 2 owners from new, 'S' model, asking price of £10k. Form an orderly queue chaps! Advert here:

Someone needs to buy that and remove the mess. If, next to looks, attention has been given in equal measure by previous owners to maintenance, actually quite an interesting one imho.

The removed offending plastic needs to be dumped in a shredder ASAP obviously.

~40k miles in the last three years. Hero!

Much better that to lock it in the garage at the first sign of drizzle.

That 987 is bonkers cheap if it's legit, there's something setting my Spidie senses tingling about the £3817 price from a private seller scratchchin, it's £2k cheaper than the next cheapest 987 on AutoTrader, although it has done 60k more miles.
I said I wouldn't have another Boxster after my 986 self destructed but at £4k....or even £6k scratchchin

£5k, to me, feels a little high for 180k especially for the time of year.

Have done just over 10k in the 3.2 986 since July last year. But, I only have a 100 mile round commute that's done once a week, usually in the daily. The daily OTOH has barely done 4.5k between MOTs, which says a lot...

If your car is a daily then the miles can easily pile on. If in other cases it's a second, third or even fourth or more car then several hundred or low thousands annual mileage does happen.
