I've just bought some poverty Pork…

This isn't poverty pork but it gives us an idea of what people are willing to pay this week. Looks like top dollar to me, even accounting for the desirable spec.

Top dollar indeed, particularly given that the front and rear bumpers aren't the same colour as the rest of the car and seem to have been fitted by David Blunkett while his guide dog was on strike. I wonder if the buyer will materialise or whether it'll be back on the market in a few weeks time. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2...

I needed that chuckle today Andyoz said:
OK thanks. If that doesn't sell then either the cars bad or the Porsche resale scene has definitely taken a tumble
I think the market had to take a tumble. I've heard from average Joe's moaning about their pension pots shrinking and being worried about work lay offs. You'd have to living in a cave not to be feeling the effects of this. And even if you're not affected you might be planning to do something else with 20 grand you have lying around which could get you a nice 996 or any other expensive item you dont really need.Andyoz said:

To be fair, Cobalt blue is a real pain to colour match! rallyman1978 said:

The adverts for this are gone so I assume Sold....
And the same car, or one strikingly similar has appeared on the Friends Green Porsche website at £24,995....https://www.friendsgreenporsche.com/product-page/p...
I bet they paid £17,000
Instead of flipping for a few grand they appear to be going for the jackpot.

Agreed, unless ‘trading’ isn’t your number one source of income and you’re a cash rich individual and you can sit on stock until the right punter comes along.
I’m in the market for a 911. Either an aerokitted 996.1, a C4S or a 997.1 if the right car comes along. I’m going to wait and see what the market does in the next few months. Unfortunately in order to get in a Porsche I need out of my E46 M3 CS and I also have my 1994 Westfield Se for sale so I’m gonna get kicked in the proverbials too

It's a bold move to buy stock at the moment, I wouldn't have thought many traders are. Looking for top end money seems wildly unrealistic.
Must be a good car. Seller wasn't doing a great job of advertising it...bad photos etc but you get a feeling about sellers sometimes reading between the lines. It was a sitting duck. Escy said:
We'll see, I'd argue it was priced to shift in a stalling market.
Looking at the dealers advert looks like the service history is excellent etc. The seller has just bought an expensive air cooled 911. I agree that the dealer probably won't make much on it though but might have been a good buy long term for someone here.
I had a little drive out in my poverty pork today once I got it working which was an achievement after all the grief I've had with the gearbox not finding gears, warnings on the dash and all manner of gremlins. For those that dont know I bought it back from the insurance company after a trip across the hard shoulder and grass verge which ripped the rear passenger wheel clean off the car.

Class. Looks like a car you can have some fun with now.Andyoz said:

A young bloke (mid twenties) met me and seemed nice enough as he showed me the car. Didn’t seem to know much about it (e.g. IMS or RMS) other than reassuring me it had had a full service “so there’s nothing to worry about...”
The car wasn’t as good in the flesh (loads of scratches and dents) and scored and heavily lipped discs with mismatched LingLong Ditchfinders all round (with so much tyre black on them you could see your face) put me off.
It seemed like a classic flip shop run by a couple of chancers.
I walked away saying I wasn’t sure it was the right car for me.
I then got a very brief email a couple of days later saying (I quote) : ‘Do you want the car or not?’
I thought I would give him the benefit of the doubt. So I sent a polite reply detailing all the issues and explaining that curt emails like the one he sent me was never going to win him any customers.
I heard nothing back but did see that he swapped the LingLongs for Michelins the following week.
That was a few years ago so maybe things have changed.
