Just off to Newquay airport and then to sunny Manchester to collect my first 911. It's only taken me 30 something years.
Congrats, what are you getting?Drive back was absolutely fantastic. I’ve not been so smitten with a car since my old E30 M3.
I've gone back a few pages and didn't see it so

I've finally bought an older Boxster. Not sure if I mentioned it here yet.

I guess there's "poverty" and "I wouldn't be seen dead in it". This one fits the latter.
(Click the link for photos. I won't offend anyone's eyes by putting them on this thread.)

Makes this look almost restrained.

Loving this car.
Not its not perfect - I cant fit in, the exhaust is a bit asbo and the wheels / tyres need changing.
Otherwise I just love it. Cant quite put my finger on why. Perhaps its the glorious weather. Perhaps its the lovely smooth clutch action. Perhaps its the lovely brakes which just feel so right. Perhaps its the cars balance when throwing it around. Perhaps its not too fast so I can ring it out a bit without seriously braking the law. Perhaps its because it reminds me of my first Porsche.
Really pleased with the purchase. Not even interested in driving the other cars.

It looks great. Especially like the speedster looking humps.
Do 996 alloys fit? I know of a nice set you might be able to have quite cheaply.
They're a good bit wider on the rear. Also knowing ATM's 17" fetish I suspect a set of those might be making their way on to the car before very long...Do 996 alloys fit? I know of a nice set you might be able to have quite cheaply.

The only choice for me right now is which 17's to buy. I might go thinner than stock on the rear. These come with 205 front and 255 rear which is just daft. But first things first is the seat. I cant be driving round uncomfortable. That's just not cricket.
Like these 2 designs, first is simpler

If you're after a 996 C2, this looks like quite a bargain to me:

My favourite colour scheme of Lapis and Savannah so perhaps I'm over excited by that. I see Porsche sports exhaust and Cruise and possibly OBC too. Looks ok to me price depending.
