Looks like a reasonably ok car. Not for me being a 3.6 and 4wd. Otherwise sounds ok. What are you seeing?

My Boxster was Orient Red. Those photos are not great, it look fabulous in person.

With silver wheels and a proper spruce up that would look sensational.

It's a lovely colour, 3.6 increases the chance of bore score. Get it scoped and be prepared for a rebuild at some point in the future even if it comes back clear.

The market looks really weird at the moment for the 996.

Several more expensive cars like that appearing, countered by plenty of cars selling cheap on eBay/CC. Not a huge amount in the middle

Maybe this is the start of people realising you can't run a 25 year old 911 on £150 a year servicing budget year after ear and be surprised when it becomes a bag of nails (read, driving the prices up)?

Probably too many 996 out there to ever get close to earlier cars, but a 996.1 C2 Manual Coupe in the mid.high teens still feels like a hell of a car for the money (yes, biased, its what I have)

I think it's the covid price hike meeting the new reality of higher interest rates.

Poverty 914 getting measured up for GT flares.

Good poke around underneath and nothing too bad thankfully. It will never win a beauty contest but that was never the point...

Pretty sure 911 Virgin sold this recently but it is now due back in.

Its nice, but the price feels quite punchy to me. And yes, I know you probably couldn't build another for similar money.

Ironically after my post further up… for a relatively low mileage, clearly very clean example with a decent engine rebuild…. I thought it looked alright from a specialist dealer.

They did. I know one of the previous owners who had the rebuild done as bore score was detected.

Nice. I used to love 914s as a kid when we lived in Germany. There’s nothing quite so 1970s as one of these in a traffic-light colour.

If I was looking for a top end 996 this would have to be top of my list for a non gt car.

I am torn. It does seem like a reasonable price given the rebuild and it is a reputable dealer. Obviously there is a small question around why it is being sold again so soonish after being sold once already by the same dealer recently - but that's only minor. Price wise it's not quite cheap enough to have me jumping all over it. The rebuild alone was 16k so if you could find a similar car needing a new engine for 18k or less then you could build another for 34k. But we all know that you never get back money spent on maintenance or modifications so does that mean it's priced a bit high? I'd say the ceiling for 996 NB cars is 30k but I guess we shouldn't just talk about price. Maybe if it wasn't just black it would be more interesting to Me. I guess if you like black it could be the perfect car for you.

I totally agree. Wouldn’t worry about it last being sold in 2022. The history and recent engine rebuild just tells me it is a car that many buyers would be foolish to turn away.
