I've just bought some poverty Pork…

I think you guys are all getting suckered in by some nice photos and a Hartech rebuild. On the one hand most are saying the green one is well over priced. By that token you're just laying full price or more for somebody else's rebuild with dubious back up for the new owner.
Realistically what is a 3.6 with not high but not low miles with some choice mods going for? Only need really over value the Hartech rebuild.

Nice, 17's as well.I much preferred their feedback to the 18's mine originally came with. Still absolutely loads of grip for the road.

One is a really nice .2 with a nice unmolested factory spec Realistically what is a 3.6 with not high but not low miles with some choice mods going for? Only need really over value the Hartech rebuild.
It also has 25k less miles and a Hartech 3.9
The Green one is, much molested! re[painted or wrapped .1 with no rebuild, and has been laid up for 8 years
Maybe the 991V car is overpriced, but is is certainly worth a large margin over the green one

A dealer like 911V must be prep'ing the car well and making 3 or 4k on the deal. If they prep'ed it well last time they sold it then it will need no prep this time around. You have to expect to pay an extra 3 or 4k for the privilege and assurance of buying from someone like 911V.It also has 25k less miles and a Hartech 3.9

And I agree. You just cant compare these 2 cars. 1 is at the very bottom of the market. The other is near the top.

Do 911V still do their ‘millennium bug price’, ie effectively sold as seen for £x or proper retail for £y? I guess you may struggle to do the form these days.
I just had a quick scan of their current stock list and there are only 2 air cooled porks in and 2 with deposit taken. Its all mainly modern stuff.https://911virgin.com/cars-for-sale/
I think this is the cheapest one I have seen for the mileage. No issues mentioned……
“Only” a 2.7 but still……
Too good to be true?

996 Turbo £34k

I will have to agree with edc here, the point of poverty porks like 996 or 986, relatively cheap car for a fun flat6 motoring. (without hitting the bad luck on every bloody mechanical component). Hartech is great but the result is actually a very-well engineered solution of a "flawed" engine design from mid 90s, so it's really a bit unnecessary to pay the massive premiums for them. (imho)

For comparative purposes here's a couple of other cars I found without even trying which for me makes this 996 feel very toppy.

Pretty sure we saw this one for sale about 6 months ago wearing BBS wheels - possibly in grey colour. Description rings a bell. I think at that time it had Giro disks maybe but they have been removed along with the wheels. You can almost see the new factory discs on the front which have barely removed the factory finish.997.2 C4S £36k https://www.facebook.com/groups/968587889832672/pe...

That to me, looks better value than the 3.9 996. Decent colour too, just needs those awful Turbo wheels replacing IMO 997.2 C4S £36k https://www.facebook.com/groups/968587889832672/pe...

Yours is very nice. What kind are those exhaust tips?
A PO fitted them but handily there's an invoice here which reveals they are these: https://www.design911.co.uk/p/exhaust-tail-pipes-p...Yours is very nice. What kind are those exhaust tips?
They're genuine Porsche tips and were, I gather, a factory option on the 2.7. Standard on the S of course.

I'm collecting mine on Saturday. Really looking forward to that, and I have a good drive home, around 80 miles, much of it on A roads that I am very familiar with. The only issue that I could find when I viewed the car yesterday was that the driver's side sun visor is sort of 'droopy' which might drive me mad on the way home I think...
Oh, and the heater controls have done that thing they all seem to do and look a mess.
