The seller is very honest, stating it clearly in the ad! It's not like he disguised it in the small print or something.
He could easily have passed it on, without mentioning the results of the borescope in the ad.

If you buy something like a 10+ years old car (especially an enthusiasts car like this) and you don't read the ad carefully or have a closer look at the photos, the onus lies 100% on you.
100% agree, vendor hasn't hidden anything and it's up to any potential purchaser to due their own due-dill

Shame its an ebay scammer.

This one isn’t a scammer, but a seller that is not well regarded around these parts, some nice parts if the carbon console and wheel are genuine?

I don’t think they even prep them after getting them back from BCA(mine had no prep when i got it), so the images will be representative of what you get.

It's got an alcantara wheel so you could make the leap of faith assumption that's it been owned by an enthusiast who's spent some money on it. On the other hand it's a bite score risk 987.1 and you have next to no come back. How you gonna roll those dice? 😆

Alcantara wheel, smoked lights on the back, black rings around front lights, awful sticky-backed-plastic on the centre console .... yeah, that's an enthusiast owned car all right. The only positive point is the grilles on the front air con condensers, but that's quickly offset by the camera mount on the bar behind the seats which may suggest it's been tracked enthusiastically (or it may not, this is a gloomy outlook).

I dunno seems a lot a car for 10k. Assuming the engines not knackered, of course! Agreed it does need the rear lights unsmoked/wheels repainted.

This looks cheap for a gen 2. From a very well know seller who apparently sells with no reserve although this one does have a reserve.

Didn't you have a black one before from flat sixes?

How do the 2 compare?

I did indeed, it was the one that was written off by a tractor.

This one is not in as good cosmetic condition but it was £3500 less to be fair. It's still very good though, don't get me wrong. It's a pre facelift car whereas as my old one was a facelift. This one has 18" GT3 alloys whereas the other had 17s, this one has a sports exhaust and the other was standard, and finally this one has the standard gear shifter whereas my old one had a short shifter fitted

I prefer this one. For reasons I don't really understand, it simply feels like it's got more mid range torque and feels more raw to drive. It's sounds immense with the sports exhaust although it does drone around 2500-3000 revs but I don't mind it at the moment as I don't do much motorway driving anyway, so the car spends most of its time under or over that rev range. I also think I prefer the standard shifter to the short shifter as the latter doesn't turn it into an mx5 gear shift and I think the longer throw somehow suits the car better.

I'm still amazed by how well it handles while remaining supple enough to smooth out the roads we have up here, stunning ride and damping for what they are. Fast enough to enjoy, not too fast to be unusable. How physical the car feels compared to the mx5 in terms of the weight of its controls is highly noticeable, and will take a little getting used to again, especially the brakes!

Super happy with it so far smile

Did you have an aftermarket or OE shortshift on your old car? The OE shortshift is similar to the 987 one so you might find you reduce the throw but don't lose so much if the feel.

This is the sweet spot for Me. And why I am starting to think that standard dampers and pram ride height is the way forward. Along with smaller wheels. I'd say ditch the 18 and embrace the 17 too.

I'm not sure but I believe it was the aftermarket one as it was a very short mx5 style shift but still not quite up there with that. I'll have a think about the 987 shift but so far not too bothered by it smile

Yeah I know what you mean although (vain comment coming up) I really like the GT3 alloys on my new one so I'll probably keep those but I think the suspension is standard so it still was really nice I thought.
