Thanks. Still happy with it?
Looks incredible.
Yep, very happy! It is the best PPF application I've experienced so far, and I think it is probably as good as PPF can get - for now. Inevitably newer technology will develop a product that surpasses XPel Ultimate. But product aside, this is still a 100% manual application process, and the skill and expertise of the installer cannot be underestimated. I have no doubt that a poor installer can and will make XPel look rubbish if installed poorly, or in less-than-ideal conditions. Not all installers are equal.

Looks great.

Am liking the GTS badge. Was it difficult to remove and realign as you have now? If so am tempted to do the same.
Thanks thumbup All Porsche badges can be removed quite easily using dental floss and taking your time. I left the realignment to the pros to do smile I imagine you just need to make a note of where the text baseline is, and the centre of the hood just needs a measuring tape.

Thanks Tom.

To correct, Ventureshield is also a 3M product since 2008 or 2009, taking over distribution in 2010.
3M buy in a lot of their films or they buy manufacturers of competing films as they did with VS, quite a lot of their films inc Di Nocs are made in china too so it will be interesting to see if they move VS to there too, so although people associate 3M with making all their own products and that they are of a high standard because they are 3M, doesn't go far in reality.

The newest ppf film is from the EU, German, higher quality, higher standards, meets all manufacturing regulations for the EU, and more importantly for us less polluting than USA or chinese origin versions, 200 micron and upwards, works a damn sight better than VS too, we've been taking VS off cars as it is a minefield of defects and issues, and replacing it with Shield and Protect® and clients love the improvement, we still have the test of time to do but clients like getting shot of the orange peel VS and getting a better looking job done.

We've got rid of 99% of chinese materials, you're barred! just the rest of our di noc to use up or bin and we are clean of far eastern muck, that was a shock to find out Di Noc is blooming chinese, all USA origin has gone too.

The Carrera with Xpel looks the mutts, very nice.

Brilliant post. Previous experience with paint protection film has put me off, as do like to buff my garage queen to a fine shine ... but I don't like stone chips and would have at least the option of going on a trackday. This PPF sounds it worth trying...

Great info here really appreciate it!

Do you know if it's possible to buy just a small sheet of this stuff (Xpel) as I just need to cover the middle bit of my front splitter, so rather not spend £100s on a professional to do it when I reckon I could have a good go myself....

So 6 years on, is the xpel still holding up? Assuming you still have the car
