They're really good actually. I prefer them to be honest. Cooler in summer and just as warm in winter. Plus of course gripper when you're pressing on a bit.
Hmmm... the more I think about, the more it makes sense! (the more I drink tonight helps, too!)...Thanks AD for your experience of not ticking the default option box!!!

Yep, very pleased with our choices - good job mines platinum and yours is GT though, just to add a bit more exclusivity, in the UK anyway! The photos show the painted side vents which I have also specified.
No worries, I live in Belgium. And I promise to keep a low profile when I come across the water!Yarivalima said:
Does anyone has a real picture of the Ageta gray with red interior ?
Check out the pics at: http://razzi.me/albums/16169-2012-2013-porsche-box... I got some of an agate gray with red interior. Looks awesome, although personally I feel the red is too much for driving it daily... Hi All,
Pretty much decided on the spec for my Boxster S, but the window is still open to add / amend should I wish.
I've gone for a manual transmission so not bothered with Sport Chrono as it doesn't seem to offer enough to warrant the hefty price. With PDK I get it, but manual not so much so - any thoughts?
And now the one that has got me thinking - PSE - haven't specced it as all (all! 2 of them) the Boxsters I have driven have the standard exhaust and thought it sounded pretty good. Given that it is switchable, I'm wondering now whether I should have it and use it if I want. Again, any thoughts?
Cheers

I have a 981S manual .. Pretty much decided on the spec for my Boxster S, but the window is still open to add / amend should I wish.

didn't get Sport Chrono as car comes with standard Sport button (which makes the car plenty responsive), plus dynamic gearbox mounts is pointless since the manual gearbox is 35kgs lighter than PDK. Most of the weight (engine) is between the axles anyway.
didn't get PSE either (not available when my car was built) .. my car is now at 4500 miles, exhaust is plenty loud, same level as PSE on in my RS60 Spyder. Sound is honest, clear and pure. Plus, there's now slight lift off burbling too. I really don't regret not spending £1500 to get a louder/different exhaust sound.
Add PDLS if you haven't already .. it's great.
One thing I wish I ordered is PASM .. for the lower ride height and increased suspension choice.
The 981S I had for a weekend had no PSE and IMHO definitely didn't need it - it sounded fantastic just as it was. It did have PASM and the ride was incredible - controlled and very comfortable. I'd still like to hear PSE - though can't see what else it brings to the party to be honest.
Thanks for the input, I think I'll save my cash in that case. PASM is excellent - have driven one with and one without on a variety of surfaces and it really does help with the ride. That's one option that is on the spec list.
It's probably a little too stiff when on for your average road (the effect is very noticeable), but it is nice to have the option.

I'd want to hear it - it's a fair bit of wedge and the standard pipes do sound good. But yes, I'd be tempted to tick it anyway - is it REALLY that much better than standard? My wife actually suggested I go back around the Dartford Bridge, and pay an extra £3 just so we could go back through the tunnel - and that was with the standard exhaust (in 2nd, roof down, in a tunnel, maximum throttle, it was simply sublime).
