Picked up my new car on Friday and a symbol has appeared that looks a bit like a 'cup cake', but can't find anyhting in the manual. I think it's a message, but no idea how to access it or deal with it, I've been through the handbook a few times but to no avail, does anyone have a clue?

My advice would be to stop driving the car and ring the dealer - be on the safe side.

I generally agree with the above - but - can you post up a picture?

Pretty sure it's nothing serious as it doesn't correspond to any of the warning symbols listed in the handbook. I will try to post up a picture this evening, I didn't mention that it's yellow. I will see if anything turns up here this morning and call the dealer if I can't get an answer.

This is the symbol, driving me mad. Certain it's nothing serious and is a message but I haven't a clue how to access it. It appears in the multi-function display and using the stalk to scroll through I can get to message but no further. Any ideas?

The trip computer should give you the additional text describing the warning (it did on my 986). Looks like a level check warning to me. Checked the coolant level recently?

Yes I have sent them the pic, think there's some head scratching going on there which is a bit worrying. Just wondered if some bright spark here would know the answer as it's often the case that there's more knowledge amongst owners than dealers. I doubt it's collant, the car is brand new and there's a specific warning message for that, I will let you all know when I have an answer though to save anyone else the bother.

Blimey, that's a pretty poor show. Seat heater problem?

Looks like a crude drawing of an open sunroof. Do you have a sunroof? Is it open?

Looks like a tyre valve cap to me. I'd have thought TPMS would throw up a different alert though... so not convinced my guess is helpful.

Have you tried pushing FORWARD on the stalk to access 1/1 message? The image looks like a Sim card to me.

Looks like a battery to me.

What do we win?

Manks is at an unfair advantage here, he must have had every warning light under the sun by now.

Tried eveything mate, agreed it looks like sim card so wondering if it's got something to do with PCM. No sunroof or tyre pressure monitoring, although it could be a beer prompt, i'll have another look in the settings. Eerily quiet on the dealer front, I think this could be going to technical support.

The chance would be a fine thing.

The most frustrating aspect in all of this is that, for the life of me, I cannot find that symbol anywhere in the manuals. Haven't been too confident about driving it since this appeared, so I have some empathy Manks, suppose I can at least polish it though.

Do you have phone connectivity? If so, have you tried inserting a sim card to see if that will access the message?
