Do you have phone connectivity? If so, have you tried inserting a sim card to see if that will access the message?
Could it be telling you something is amiss with SAP (Sim Access Profile), even something as simple as "please insert a SIM card"? The telephone module can toggle between SAP and HFP (Hands Free Profile). Maybe it is set to SAP and there is no paired phone. Or your paired phone has ceased to connect.Manks said:
These upgrades were obviously not possible before the car was delivered to you?
I know, it makes no sense, picked the car up last Friday! I guess that as I bought it from dealer stock it may have been sitting around for the last couple of months, still poor though. Might be worth asking the question while yours is in the workshop.Blue62 said:

- cup-cake
- pint
- SIM card (SAP???)
- Battery
- Heated Seat
- clueless dealer
- open sunroof
- tyre valve cap (tPMS?!!??!)
- phone setting
Seems to me that it's telling you you received a txt msg but since the PCM doesn't have any onboard memory to save it, its been saved to the sim instead.
Try accessing it via the PCM screen. Or, pop the sim card back into a phone and access the sim messages directly.
Unfortunately, Porsche don't carry out fixes like this voluntarily. They carry out Campaign items which they do when the car is next booked in. Other non-campaign items are bound to be listed in the TSB registry for the 991 but the OPC is not obliged to carry them out unless the customer has specifically experienced that issue.
Pedantic, I know.

It means that one of your VTS tags isn't switched on. To turn it on hold down the button on the tag for five seconds and then the 'Cup Cake' symbol will go out
I think we've established that it isn't a cup cake, it's a pint of Peroni. I reckon you're right though, excuse my ignorance but where or what is the button/tag? I will be taking the car in for a software upgrade but would be good to sort this particular issue with the help of the massif.Gassing Station | Porsche General | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
