has anyone with one of these with a standard exhaust system on it had the bypass done to make it sound like the pse system but without the switchable option?
if so does it sound the same as the pse and what does it cost? will it also have issue passing the mot after?

cheers neil

Had my 997 Gundo'd about a month ago, used hayward & scott, great services, couple of hours down the nearby cafe while they did it on a Saturday morning.

Can defo recommend it. I went for a 1.5" pipe, really makes the difference, deep and throaty on acceleration and non intrusive at motorway cruising speeds. It can sound a tad blowey on cold starts but fine when warmed up.

No change to mpg (other that a heavier right food to enjoy the sound!) and no impact on MOT as the bypass is beyond the muffler.

+1 on all that, I'd recommend H&S and I'm very happy with the 1.5" pipe on my 996

2"? so they have gone up from 1" to 2"?

forgive me for sounded thick.how does that pipe make it louder?it just connects the two pipes that are exiting the same exhaust box anyway? cant see how connecting them helps

On the rear boxes, one pipe is entry and the other is exit - unlike most other cars, both are on the same side of the silencer casing, so the exhaust comes in from the cat, does a U turn, and goes out the bottom to the tailpipes.
The bypass pipe diverts a portion of exhaust gas straight into the tailpipe, with the remainder going via the silencer creating more noise.
As the bypass is done after the cats (which sit behind the bumper) there's no impact on any MOT testing.

looking at pics i must be a douche! to me it looks like two pipe exiting the exhaust side by side and then going in to one at the tailpipe?

Even in real life it's difficult to tell because they are so close, but one is the connection from the cat, and the other is the outlet to the tailpipe smile
