There is a quaife sequential transaxle out of a radical sr8 for sale on race cars direct, complete with audi v8 and adaptor plate.
Link please...There is this though which seems perfect given the post above.

News Flash just in... There's a possibility another 962 fan is interested in funding the next build. That would speed up the build again New name for thread though........."962 with a 996 Turbo Heart" fingers crossed will update with info when its confirmed..... Turbo with a Ally Tub might be fun...

Clive,Have you considered something like Patreon? Others seem to be using it to fund builds. There is currently a mini being built. Every time they put a video on YouTube they get around £6k.
Might be a nice way of keeping the result of your hard work.
Well today in Canada they legalized Pot, but strangely enough I’m higher than the International space station right now..... nothing to do with a chemical introduction I might add...
It’s not 100% confirmed yet as the engine is being checked out as we speak to make sure it hasn’t sustained any damage in the crash... But there’s a almost new GT2 Turbo motor in the running for the next 962 build... and icing on the cake we’ve sourced a Endurance LeMans spec Transaxle.. seeing as it’s 700 hp stock and there must be a chip tune out there for 750 ?? all you Porsche Passion guys this could be a higher spec 962 than the original Rothmans cars

Well not in any race series but the owner wants to do a lot of track days . Going to have to be similar wheel spring rates to a race car on this one and drop it to 75 mm for the road then maybe have alternate mounts for the shocks to drop it to 60 mm for the track as the aero needs to be lower to take full effect for the underbody which is the biggest generator of downforce ... and with such a serius engine combo it’s going to need to be balanced aero wise
@Clive - Wow- What a fascinating thread - I have only just discovered it and have literally spent 6 hours going through all 45 pages! A good job my boss was out today as I have done absolutely no work this afternoon because of this! Wonderful welding skill - amongst everything else you have done - loved seeing how you fabricated parts out of alloy billets- in building that 962 - I was also disappointed at how the story ended 10% short of complete!
Inspiring work and will keep tabs on your next project.

I think it might be best to start a new thread, once we start in ernest.
So good news and bad - Good news here's the Transaxle we will be using, its presently being rebuilt with the ratios we want. It came from a Daytona Prototype car in the USA.
The bad news was we had a Porsche expert interrogate the 991 GT2 engine in the wrecked car before buying it. It only had 5K on it but the ecu had logged over 300 "over rev" events, and upon starting it there was a not so healthy bad knocking noise. Gutted but glad we didn't buy a dud... So the search continues for a Turbo motor..

With modern ECU's and rev limiters, how do you get 'over rev' occurrences?
Are they when someone hits the limiter (but the engine doesn't exceed the limit). Or are they on down shifts?
Typically down shifts, but there are different ranges of over Rev recording, some more important than others. Range 1/2 on the GT2 if memory serves Are they when someone hits the limiter (but the engine doesn't exceed the limit). Or are they on down shifts?
