Love a nice 997.I recognise the username. Fairly sure we used to compete in sprints and hillclimbs?

Yes, username Pete runs a GT3, as does another TVRCC Speed Champs competitor you would know over in Shrewsbury. Now running a 997 Carrera "S".
Less so in terms of character. I've never had more fun behind the wheel of any car than my 996 on track. The mixture of communication, raw ability and dependability is perhaps unsurpassed anywhere, but I do miss the smell, sound and lightness of my TVR. I've been reminiscing a lot about it recently.

I never owned a Cerbera but, did get a lot of seat time in them, as both a driver and passenger. The way the AJP V8 came on-cam was utterly intoxicating and, completely different, but similar in exhilaration, to the boost on a turbo.
I did drive a 997 GT2 once. I can only describe WOT full boost as savage. fk knows how you pedal one around a circuit!

Me too. I was an impoverished mech eng student in Manchester when the 964 was at its peak.I had a poster that was given away with magazine (was it Car?) of a Rubystone 964 turbo on the wall. 99.99% sure that the RS launched after that point.
