Guards whats not to like.....
I thinks Seal Grey is the colour for 996s
Guards is lovely, and rare but you're right about Seal Grey I thinks Seal Grey is the colour for 996s
Slate Grey is a very close second though.
On a GT3 I'd take Zanzibar as my 1st choice though

Lapis Blue is lovely. Savannah, less so.
I can understand that statement. I think the slate and black look optimal, but the lapis is vibrant and gorgeous in the sun - a rich purpley blue and the baby poo offsets it very well. It looks very pretty and is finding much more favour of late. This is perhaps not what turbo owners want. Better on a cab, perhaps? Savannah works best with lapis; charcoal grey works well with ocean; and black with midnight. So there we are.GC8 said:

One of our other kent members had an Ocean Jade metallic with neophyte green interior. Although very Marmite on the occasion I drove it I couldn't believe how much attention it got.
If I walked naked down the high street I would get a lot of attention - although the effect would be similar to the effect nephrite green has anyone with taste I mean seriously?

This, I have a real problem with. The noughties fad for part-wood wheels was naff enough in a Jag, but just about passed muster. Way back, I had a P38 Rnge Rover Vogue which had part wood wheel but, in fairness, also had a beautiful walnut dash and the whole effect did suit the vehicle. In an 911 it looks incongruous.I'm also not sold on too much of the next fad which was sivler plastic - this again found its way into 996s with varying degrees of success.
I've said it before, but when I was buying I had very particular ideas about exterior colour and interior trim and colour combos. I wanted it black, like Zaphod Beeblebrox's spaceship.

yep - wood looks awful in a Porsche, I quite liked the ali packs in the 996 as they lifted the black interior (which to me is the only acceptable 997/986 interior colour due to awful other options and clashing plastics), but it was a bit of a joke that it was "ali-look" i.e painted plastic not proper aluminum in such a prestige brand. My RS4 had brushed aluminium touches in the dash/doors that were... aluminium!!I'm also not sold on too much of the next fad which was sivler plastic - this again found its way into 996s with varying degrees of success.
