I also found options selection very challenging partly because this is my first Porsche.

yup, me too.

Got a call from the dealer that i could get mine early but had to confirm spec the next day...don’t think I’ll go a day without changing my mind but I reckon it’ll settle once I get my car.

Congratulations on your first porsche

And I changed my specs twice after ‘confirming’. Luckily frantic phone calls worked but you never know!

Got my update today. Apparently on the way to OPC, but they aren't sure where it is right now. Still saying May 7th, not sure why given others have had their cars released with the offending Pico Node temporarily disabled :/ Leaves me in limbo with my other vehicle.

Crikey, already 3 for sale on Porsche used cars! Look a bit basic though

Looks like none of them have full leather which was the same as the car my OPC has in it's showroom. Don't know if its available yet but it would be an absolute "must have" for me as it was on the previous car. We have it on ours....people comment on how nice the interior is.

I took the risk without for a couple of reasons:

1) IMO if you go for black you can get away with it. In fact if ala MB they stitched the Faux leather I'd be more then happy with it. For the two tone interiors I think its more risky. Also the Deviated stitching on two tone interiors really sets the interior off. If they'd offered deviated stitching on the black full leather I'd have ticked the box.

2) With a 3 y/o that now likes to climb all over the seats I think the faux leather will wear much better. On other cars I've had both Nappa and Heavily processed leather (Dakota for example). The Dakota (which is closer to Faux leather) wears infinitely better IME, it barely even forms creases on the drivers seat. Nappa (which is closer to the "smooth leather" Porsche use) definitely shows the signs of abuse like a toddler insisting she climbs in and out of her own car seat :/

I did ask if it was a resale killer and they assured me it was not, looking on Autotrader at the previous model that appears to hold true. It was a difficult decision coming from a 6GC with leather and deviated stitching everywhere. I've really enjoyed the two tone Black/Ivory interior of this car. But my wife has been in the back to mop up, with two car seats that will be a harder job so I've decided to take the safer option.

As you can see in this photo of the interior of our Cayenne the leather does crease....that's also becasue the bolsters on the 18 way seats are pretty high. Not the most practical colour interior but it's not all about resale for us....it's just a really nice place to sit....and the 18 ways are incredibly comfortable. I've been in Cayenne's with all black interiors since we've had ours and they feel really really dark in comparison...I've only ever had a black interior in cars before. And sa you say the deviated stitching makes a big difference.

That's pretty similar to the interior on my 6GC. I'll miss the deviated stitching. In some respects white is easier to maintain as it shows the dirt. On black it can sit there un-noticed. As most upholsterers will tell you, dirt/oil being rubbed into the leather is what does the damage. For someone that predominantly went black interior, I really regret my previous decisions after I finally made the switch.

But I'm regressing primarily because there are going to be two car seats in the back now and no Mum sitting at the back to clean up as the mess occurs. Plus my daughter likes puddles and climbing into her own car seat, very bad combo frown Figure the faux leather will stand up better.

Couldn't do the 18 ways either frown which also look great IMO. But in the rear they create two raised edges sandwiching the middle seat and thats the only one i'll have left after the car seats go in, so I played it safe.

First SUV, so might not be happy anyway and go back to saloons and take the inconvenience pain smile

I'm *finally* picking mine up on Friday afternoon, so will post a few pictures of the all-black full leather interior then. My previous Cayenne had full smooth leather and survived one then two toddlers in the back for 4 years, with no permanent damage. Baby wipes are a lifesaver!

18 ways look great IMO. But your pics also show problem with them for rear seating frown If you have 2 car seats in the rear, they make the centre seat quite uncomfortable due to the raised sides of the outer seats.

Its done better in my 6GC, where the centre is raised a little. So you still get the individual seat effect on the outers, but the centre retains the bench seat effect. On the other hand the trans tunnel renders the centre seat quite useless instead on the 6GC smile

If you have proper child seats there's bugger all room for a third seat in the middle so I think the size of the bolsters is a bit of a moot point.

Really frown

I have a Maxi Cosi Pebble/Pearl using the 2way base. I got a Cybex Pallas for the Grandparents car. I tried both in the GC and the Mrs/Gradnma could sit in the middle, but getting in and out (due to low roof and trans tunnel) was a pain. I figured this would make a good combo, as the Maxi Cosi is more compact and the base raises it a bit giving some bum room. Also when its not needed the actual car seat can be easily removed giving any passenger some more elbow room. Whilst the Cybex has a top tether instead of leg, meaning you get a free footwell on that side.

I'd expected it would be better with the Cayenne. I guess I'll have to head to Mothercare and try a few.

Our kids used to both have Cybex Q Fix's....there's absolutely no way you could sit between them. Might be different on the new car though. Luckily my son no longer needs a car seat so we can now carry three passengers in the back if needed.

The Cybex ones are quite bulky, plus they have those side impact attachments sticking out. The Pallas appears to be a little better then yours though.

Also we won't have two of them. The other side will be the Maxi Cosi Pebble on an Isofix base and thats no where near as wide as the Cybex seats. Nor is the Pearl that the will take us to four years for the second child. I imagine the Cayenne will be gone by that time.

Anyone else still have delays with their Cayenne? Its apparently on its way to the UK now. But they still haven't pulled the date back from second week of May. Perhaps they don't want to revise it again in case theres another delay, i.e. better to say "surprise, its early" biggrin

But it's a little disconcerting given the experience so far.
