2018 Cayenne bets?......

Hope this front grill arrangement doesn't make it to production. It looks a bit wide-mouth-frog.

Looks like it's getting a pop-up (sorry - active) spoiler on top of the tailgate....

The Hybrids (Cayenne and Panamera) always seem to get poor reviews, but presumably the tax concessions will be attractive to some.
I'd still go Diesel for this type of vehicle. A big SUV isn't a sports car, it's the smooth low to mid-range power delivery that suits it. And of course the fuel economy.
Looks have hardly changed - and still not as pretty as the Macan
If you get the tax break a Hybrid is the only choice....it's also priced very aggressively on the new Panamera, if it's a similar discount on the Cayenne to the S Diesel then it's worth considering. When I test drive a Hybrid last year I thought it worked well but you have to drive it in the right way to maximise the benefits and ideally want to be doing lots of short journey where you can make the most of charging the battery from a charging point. I went for an S Diesel though...

I own both a Cayenne se hybrid and a new Panamera 4e hybrid both bought through my business and taking into account the various income and road tax concessions the only variants i'm able to afford. My new Panamera hybrid costs approx £14k less to buy than the equivalent V8 diesel s and if you include the tax element on top in effect you could buy two hybrids for the new price of one V8 diesel s.When I test drive a Hybrid last year I thought it worked well but you have to drive it in the right way to maximise the benefits and ideally want to be doing lots of short journey where you can make the most of charging the battery from a charging point. I have got the first new gen 2018 Cayenne hybrid coming next spring and the only one i would consider. No brainer for a high tax rate paying sole trader imo..

Yes I'll be having one of those John but I will mourn the loss of my V8 diesel as its a proper monster of an engine.I have got the first new gen 2018 Cayenne hybrid coming next spring and the only one i would consider. No brainer for a high tax rate paying sole trader imo..
Have you actually asked your dealer for a new one yet? Is spring the expected arrival date?

Looking forward to seeing some details on the new model as I love my current 4.2 V8D I was told earlier in year by my local OPC that it would arrive this year looks unlikely now though
It does. The reason for the diesels being released later can 'only' be because they need to make sure the latest fix doesn't kill performance or reliability etc.I'm leaning toward the new 2.9 litre petrol turbo with 430bhp in the Cayenne S. Should be powerful and torquey enough for road use, and usefully lighter than the V8 diesel or hybrid; plus I have on-street parking for my everyday bus, so PHEVs aren't so useful until public charging infrastructure is a lot more prevalent.

My OPC (and I presume all OPCs) presently has a Cayenne Summer Event running for two months until 30th September.
I guess this is the last chance to order the present model (presumably with a bit of discount) until the configurator is purged ready for the new one after Frankfurt.
That indicated a Spring launch with cars hitting the Uk Q2 next year I reckon ? Which is that my OPC told me two or three months ago. If there's a promotional event on until the end of Sep then presumably they'll still be making cars for a couple of months after that. I guess this is the last chance to order the present model (presumably with a bit of discount) until the configurator is purged ready for the new one after Frankfurt.

Are not all Cayennes made in Leipzig ?
Final assembly is in Leipzig but next gen is being made entirely in Bratislava. Quote form an FT article...Matthias Müller, Porsche chief executive, said on Tuesday that after 2016 the next generation of the Cayenne SUV – a vehicle that currently accounts for roughly half of Porsche sales – will be manufactured entirely in Bratislava, Slovakia.
The decision was taken as part of a reorganisation of production within Porsche and the wider Volkswagen Group.
Currently much of the Cayenne – including the bodywork – is made at a facility in Bratislava but the final assembly takes place in Leipzig.
It's a VW Group factory which produces all of the SUV's...e.g. Q7, Bentayga etc
My understanding was that the bare shells of the Cayenne, Tourag and Q7 are built in Bratislava, then sent to their respective assembly plant
( Wolfsburg VW, Ingolstadt Audi and Leipzig Porsche ) for final assembly, is this not going to continue ? Porsche Leipzig is the final assembly plant for the Cayenne , will this not continue? What would they do with the spare capacity at Leipzig ?
