I've noticed a burning rubber smell coming from the right rear tyre area and some heat too.

It's the kind of smell you'd expect at the rear after driving like a boy racer, lots of sharp braking and acceleration.

However I got this after a leisurely 2 mile drive on a cold day, smell hits you when you get out of the car. Even after being parked half an hour the smell was still there.

It's only coming from one tyre area, the right rear. Not sure if it's brakes, tyre, both or something completely different like exhaust or (shudder) engine. I'd be freaking right now if it was a gen 1 (IMS, RMS, bore score) but I did see Hartech's recent post about gen 2 engine failures!

I had the same problem in my 997.2 this morning, I have spirited 20 mile journey to work and the same thing occurred, I will be interested in the responses. ETA, mine is a C2.
