Macan Turbo Performance Package Delivery
Discussion
Hi I picked up my Macan turbo pp on 4 March, first out of Hatfield. Night blue and garnet/black. Have just broken 1000 miles and am still treating it a bit gently.
It is a tremendous car. I had a turbo and this is noticeably faster and more responsive, the exhaust sounds much better, and I can really feel the extra braking ability. I have POV on this one which I didn't on the turbo and I can really feel it on curving motorway slip roads, for e.g. Very happy with it.

Probably best to test drive something like a GTS and see for yourself. I think you will get differing opinions. From my personal experience I think it's an amazing very sporting SUV but there's no getting away from the fact that it's an SUV (which is no bad thing!). Admittedly I still have the diesel (Turbo PP arrives in May) but on 21's with AIR, etc so it handles really well and the ride quality is exceptionally good - I've driven mine across twisty Alpine passes and it was really impressive (much more so than I expected) and a lot of fun. Certainly a feel good car and a lovely place to spend time - options like the full leather, sports seats, pano roof make it feel very premium.
If the brief is to own one reasonably practical fun "do it all" car I would be extremely happy with a GTS or Turbo. But would be lovely to have something like a Caterham tucked away in addition for assault on the senses weekend hacks! Best to test drive one and see what you think for yourself....

For those of you running a Macan, can you give a sense of the fun factor? Are you running weekend cars too, or is there enough about it to run it as your only car?
Hi Chaps,
My Turbo PP is due in a couple of weeks, ordered in October after upgrading from Turbo order. Really looking forward to it although I'll be really sad to see my Cayenne Diesel S go after 2 years of faultless motoring.
Anyway here's a few iffy renderings of the spec of the new one in Volcano Grey, although the stainless front & rear skid plates seem to be missing from this effort. So hopefully before long I'll update with some real ones.

I'd agree with this, I have a GTS on standard wheels/GTS suspension. The handling is very neutral (rather than thrilling), the ride is unexpectedly brilliant, the sound is great, its quick enough (and I guess the Turbo PP would be awesome) and a better balance than other things I looked at fulfilling the 'do it all' type of car, I actually preferred it to the M4 I drove a while ago. The combination of things the Macan does great and most of the time this feels 'enough' but its never going to replace an out and out sports car - particularly noticeable having driven 718's and a 991.2 lately! If the brief is to own one reasonably practical fun "do it all" car I would be extremely happy with a GTS or Turbo. Hi Guys,
I received delivery of my Turbo PP last week, extras include Volcano Grey metallic, full red leather with contrasting stitching, heated seats all round with crests, carbon trim, carbon heated steering wheel, pano roof, sport mirrors, aluminium roof rails, stainless front & rear skid trays and possibly other stuff I've forgotten about, oh yeah..... 21" wheels
Anyway, a few photos for you after the Gtechniq ceramic coating had been applied.
Cheers,
Paul

OPC Leeds have got a used one on their website...Volcano Grey. Looks like it was/is a demonstrator. Guessing some high up fancied one.....
I'm pretty sure it was one that was bought for the winter by a chap who changes his car about 4 times a year, he's back in a 991 Turbo now. He lost circa. £4k on it in PX, which isn't too bad for a 4 month change of a loaded car.Cheers,
Paul

Has anyone else got rust on the edge of the front brake disk? Edge not painted? On Turbo PP?
No cause for concern, brake disks do rust a little especially on the leading edge. The braking surface itself will show rust if left after rain, obviously that wears straight off with more braking. If it's really bad and annoying you have a word with your OPC.
Cheers,
Paul
Very smart, trust you're enjoying it. Mine has turned up, will post pics after delivery, can't wait...
