Average C2S around 40k. GTS average is 70k. Both finger in the air.

How does this make sense ? Is the C2S good value in this context? Is the GTS overpriced? Seems to me the price diff is not justified by diff in the driving experience.

Any thoughts on this?

A low miles gen2S is about £60k these days lol but if you find me a 15k miles 2011 model for £40k let me know.

the GTS is a newer car than a £40k old beater with 60k miles on it, so you have to look at like for like, but yes even then to pay £20k more for the GTS is hard to swallow. £20k buys you a lot of upgrades on a nice C2s, but if the GTS holds value then it don't matter really and can be seen as good value if you look at the COST TO OWN and not purchase price.

The GTS can't be over priced whilst people are still buying them. They have gone up a bit since a certain dealer started buying them, but there's already a thread on that topic.

Looking at OPC site there's a manal C2S in the low £50k's which is about £20k less than JZM just sold two manual coupe's at the beginning of last week...I'd say nice spec PDK GTS's are a little bit less. yes hexagon are asking more for GTS's but then they woldn't see you a Carrera S for £50k either.

So roughly Manual Carrera S £50k
Manual GTS £70k
Manual Turbo £75k
Turbo S £85k (PDK only)
GT3 Comfort £100k
GT3 CS £120k

All those cars are low volume cars with the exception of the Carrera S although in manual form it's quite rare. So given the amount made I think the GTS is about right at £70k personally....there's quite a bit more to a GTS than an S too....suspension is tweaked slightly (slightly stiffer), wide body, powerkit, upgraded interior and CL which most people love. In 2wd form the only other wide body 997 is the GT3 RS.

At the £80k Hexagon are asking though it's le wrong prix. 981 Spyder, 997.1 GT3, GT4 etc

The 2S, and 4S 997, don't have the wide body?

The C2S does not. C4S not RWD. We won't mention the Sport Classic or the Speedster.

Regardless of where the market is, the spread seems to be 20k for like for like mileage cars. I have not driven a GTS but my observation is simply that it feels to me that that 997.2 CS manual is a very rare car, more so that the Carrera GTS manual - I have seen 10 max for sale this year, and judging by the GTS thread, there appear to be more GTS's available.

Could be that there is simply a lot more focus on GTSs though...

Ha....fair enough. Glad my GTS gets mentioned in the same breath...sadly not the same price bracket though!
