Hi guys, the other half would like a Macan - has anyone driven the standard 2.0 petrol? Does it have any merit or are you worth just sticking to the diesel s?

Also, is it basically list price still or are discounts possible? Thanks!

I was lent a 2.0T Macan for a couple of days when my Boxster was being serviced at the beginning of the month, I was actually pretty impressed, did around 28mpg over 130 miles, nice cabin, ride with PASM and 21" wheels ok, however I wouldn't buy the 2.0T when the S model with a 3L Turbo and an extra 80bhp is s few £K more, less when you look at specification - smaller wheels etc.

There are 120+ Diesel Macans in the porsche used car network at the moment, theres some serious choice and battering to be had.

Id suggest you go test drive a few smile

Used prices seem to be only 4k down on new after a year, which makes new seem better value to me. Plus she wants white exterior, red leather interior - so very specific! I'm going to email some dealers see if they have any cancelled orders or stuff in stock for whatever reason.

I think prices have dropped significantly with so many being in the network, almost double the amount of stock on this time last year when i was looking.

Good luck with your search/purchase

I had one as a loan car for a few weeks and was actually very impressed with it. In normal day to day driving it was plenty fast enough, it was only when gunning it at motorway speeds did it feel a bit lacking. Ive also driven the diesel which was ok but honestly I'd have the 2.0 over the diesel or spend a little more and get the 3.0 Macan S.

The first Macan I drove was a 2 litre and it was pretty good. I did, however, buy the Diesel, which is fantastic. And I came out of a 991 Cab as well. I think you'll struggle to get a discount, especially with wanting a certain spec. I'd order a new one if I were you.

I'm tempted to swap our Cayenne for a Macan next year. Boot space is the only thing that bothers me - can you get 4 suit cases in the boot? We just managed to get this lot into the Cayenne last year (helped by sliding the rear seats forward) but could make do with one less case now.

Macan boot seemed fine - obviously not as big as the Cayenne, but pretty good for four + luggage.

Main difference is the slopping rear screen, so not great for big dogs who like to wander around.

I really liked the Diesel S. Excellent 'real world' performance and a reliable 35-40 mpg

That was my thinking - may be pushing it trying to squeeze 4 large cases into the boot without having to slide the rear seats that far forward the rear passengers have to dangle their legs out the sunroof! Cheers Koln

Yes, but not as large as yours, as others have said, it's the roof-line.

Big dogs as in labrador ? Don't want Cayenne so will I have to reconsider C43 AMG or RS4 Avant ?

Just leave your beauty case at home, Phooey, and you should be fine with the Macan wink
