Likely to have been discussed already but what are people's thoughts ?

I love the looks and its capabilities.

Likely costs, launch date and waiting list ?

Next year , great!

Thought they'd be over 100k so that's encouraging .

Let's hope the actual car looks like the concept

Yes but would you really want an electric Porsche? We,ll now have a new set of arguments about the demise of the hated turbo engines I suspect 😱

Sadly it's inevitable I think and we'll all be driving them sooner or later . Fuel prices and road tax will push people into them.

No gear change either will be strange !

I know what you mean moose. Won't be the same track or fast lane driving with no engine noise or gear changes .

Have emailed my OPC asking a few questions but from previous experience they are usually ill informed

Electric cars will be subject to car tax and "fuel" tax once revenues from normal cars dips.

Have you any idea how long it will be before we have fully autonomous cars actually allowed on the roads with zero driver involvement?

10, 15 years at best?

The biggest hurdle won't be the tech hacking nonsense that is in the mainstream media - it's insurance.

Try to get every insurance company in the world to agree who is at fault when an autonomous Google Car with two passengers ploughs into a child playing in the street because a truck was coming the other way and saving two is better than saving one. The legalities of the whole idea are staggering.

Called my Opc who as I suspected had no clue on release date, spec or prices.

Then again they are only franchise dealers not Porsche themselves

Article from The Verge which also links a CAR Magazine article. Obvs prices in USD, but gives people an idea.

Apparently the real thing will look "very close" to the concept - we can only hope, as the concept is a stunning looking thing.

Any idea on pricing Taffy ? I seem Tesla Model S has been mentioned as a pricing benchmark ? Top end Tesla is circa £120k....I'd have thought this would be coming in a £140k plus. The Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid (what a mounthful) is £140k.

Surely final styling will be fixed in time. Clearly a Panamera mule at present.
But it would be complete let down if this was just came to market as an electric Panamera Sportback in the style of an A7 or CLS coupe.

This. Looks like a Panamera mule - not 'production body' at all. At least I hope so. Otherwise, way to tease me and then not follow through! Typical woman...

ETA - especially given the comments from sources so far saying that production will look "very close" to the concept. Erm...not above it doesn't!

In which case I would LOVE someone to explain to me how that is "very close" to the concept.

If that is the case, I am "very close" in looks to Kate Beckinsale. We both have two arms and two legs and...erm...a face...

I see the vague similarity, but the car below is orders of magnitude better looking than that fat fking effort above.
