Had a call from the OPC yesterday confirming April build for my new Cayenne, some new options available so had to reconfigure. Delivery early May

I did the same and was told I had no car in the first run before the April shutdown. Now looking like Oct/Nov build.

I paid my deposit with Reading at the end of August and they confirmed this week that my car will be built by the end of March for April delivery. Spec needs to be locked down by the first week of Feb. That’s for an S rather than a Turbo or base V6.

Many many spec decisions still to be made...!

I'm kind of glad that I have to wait because I want the tow bar but don't want to have to buy air suspension as well so it suits me. I've realised I'll not be able to get my bikes on and off the roof without a set of step ladders as there are no side steps on the options list.

I was told the same yesterday by my OPC yesterday for a Turbo

That's a good side effect of waiting. There are a lot of options in the PDF brochure which have a footnote stating "provisionally available" from May or August, especially cosmetic things like wheels. You might even have a more inspiring selection of colours to choose from by then too.

I originally spec'd the tow bar for mounting a bike rack, but eventually decided that I'll just stick to a roof mounted carrier. I need roof bars so I can put on a roof box for longer family camping trips, so may as well use them for the bikes as well. Not that removing the tow bar has saved me any money; I've added expensive niceties like rear wheel steering and matrix LEDs since then!

I hadn't seen the PDF and didn't realise there were so many items that wouldn't be available on the first cars. I had originally wanted to use my roof mounted carriers but I went over to North Wales at the weekend with the MTB on top of the Macan and it wasn't easy getting the bike on or off. I suspect its the 21" wheels on this Macan compared to the 19" on my previous Macan that I had no problems with that are making it difficult.

Rolling circumference of the 19s and 21s must surely be the same but the profiles different obviously so vehicles height not affected.

Fair point but the car is definitely higher. Never had problems getting bikes on or off before. Maybe non PASM cars are a bit higher??

Or you're shorter? biggrin

Did the previous car have PASM with Air perhaps?

Good thing you're OPC called you, as if i hadn't seen this thread i'd have been oblivious I've also been allocated an April slot :/

I guess at least there's some consistency frown just not the kind one would want. They didn't bother to let me know when they had the show car in for customers to see and I'd emailed them only the week before to be assured they would let me know.

Part of me really feels like moving on frown

Got to finalise my spec for April build and noticed they have Sport Design kit now. Is anyone else ticking this box? Whilst I like the front spoiler, I'd primarily be adding it to get rid of the black plastic trim (I'm planning to go for white with black pack and 21" Turbo Design Satin Alloys). Wondering wether i'd be better off resolving that after market with a wrap or aftermarket kit (which would give me more choice).

Very black, are you getting the controls labelled in black with black lights?

Bit of advice, don't park it at The Restaurant at the End of the Universe smile
