Thread resurrection - wondered how the guys who were buying Carrera Ts had got on and what the cars like to live with as a daily please?

Mine is up to 10500 miles now and is 19 months old.

Still very happy.

It’s a fabulous modern all rounder but still has a manual gearbox and is a bit noisy so you can’t help but interact with it.

I spent a couple of hours in a 991.2 Carrera at the PEC a couple of months ago and on a back to back comparison, the subtle changes to the T certainly add up to sharpen the driving experience.

Last ever narrow bodied 911? I suspect time will be kind to the T.

Sadly that time hasn’t yet come. Whilst T’s are loved by their owners, selling prices keep declining by ~£1,000 per month

I wasn’t talking about values - time will be
kind to the T on the basis of it being an end of an era type car.

Owners that I know still seem very happy with them.

Sold mine over the summer as new car arriving.

Mine was 'manuel' basic spec comfort seats T pack nav lightweight glass DAB.

Great car and very reminiscent of 997.2 C2S in most respects. Good daily weakest point probably vague gearbox action in upper ratios.

As predicted held its value relatively well mine sold in a week for just under list (OPC) 2k miles 18 plate, lots of interest. Appears the higher specced higher priced particularly PDK cars struggle and these show the greatest depreciation as a result. RWS cars probably not worth the extra.

Guaranteed future classic imo especially as last of the narrow bodied Carreras and low build numbers. Makes the 997 GTS look ridiculously overpriced.

But keep the spec simple and don't bother with needless weight like PDK and sunroof. The ethos of the car is lightweight so the 'manuel' fairly basic spec (incl T pack) cars will be the unicorns in years to come.

Ceramic braked cars weren't worth the huge cost extra cost new relative to basic price of the car imo and it appears like the GT4/Spyder the market doesn't attach much value to ceramics on the T either so if you want them for less unsprung weight benefits they are a bargain but bear in mind bigger future maintenance costs if the cars a keeper.

Perfect daily car despite mine having the LWB's which for me are the most comfortable seats ever. I couldn't care less about values as I bought mine new to keep. It's such a shame Porsche ditched the narrow body as it's the perfect size for B roads and parking etc. T really comes to life on a twisty road and there lies the downside as journey's do tend to take longer now!

Good road car. Shorter gearing than the GT4 make it more driveable = more fun.

As usual depreciation was mentioned, most cars do, particularly at the minute. I think it'll find a level and stay around it soon.
There's actually very few manuals for sale.

The only car that'd tempt me, would be the as yet hypothetical 992 T with the NA 4 litre!

Agree the gearbox ratios are better than the GT4 and 7th on the T is great for cruising and economy which is dire on the 6 speed GT4.

But gear ratios aside, the GT4 gearbox is a delight to use unlike the T and probably even beats the 991.2 GT3 as one of Porsches best imo.

Clutch on the T is too light as is the current trend whereas the 981 GT4 is perfectly weighted.

Agreed the GT4 gearbox is best.
I was commenting on the jist of the poster posing their question regards daily driving.
For daily traffic etc the GT4 clutch is a tad heavy, weekend use it's fine.

5kg lighter in the majority of cases, it's daft

the T ethos isn't actually lightweight, look at the cayman t and boxster t - they are around 500grams lighter than a standard car
