Agree. My business partner just bought an ex-demo F-Pace petrol - the dealer couldn't do enough to give it away.
You mind sharing how much he got it for (against RRP with options)? Might help others trying to negotiate on one.

The Macan Western European diesel mix in 2017 was 45.3%, what will those consumers buy now? Petrol?

Porsche's CO2 average has frozen reflecting the whole German market despite impressive PHEV sales:

Jan 2018: 185.4g/km

Jan 2017: 185.2g/km

Heard on the news that German cities are pushing to ban diesel cars. If they are successful it'll catch o elsewhere...

Diesels are undeniably efficient in terms of fuel consumption but I fear their days are numbered - in cars anyway. Right or wrong though that may be...

I've decided to put my name down for a Mission E....our Cayenne would have been due to be replaced in a couple of years when the Mission E comes out. Mission E will become daily for wife and kids and take the brunt of the mileage and we'll keep the Cayenne S Diesel for times when we need the space/range....the Cayenne will be worth more to me than it will to anyone else as a three year old diesel car with 50k miles on it!

"German manufacturer drops diesel versions of Macan and Panamera"

So there will be a Cayenne Diesel
Correct. I'm taking delivery of the petrol variant in April and will chenge it for the Diesel as soon as it's available. This has been confirmed by my OPC as well.

Leipzig, Germany (dpa)

"Environmental bans on diesel-powered vehicles are legal in German municipalities, a top German court ruled on Tuesday, in a verdict that could have wide-ranging effects on the nation's automotive industry.

The ruling only specifically touches on the cities of Dusseldorf and Stuttgart, which sought to interpret German law so they could implement diesel bans in an effort to clean up polluted air."

The German restrictions are only for the older diesels in certain highly polluted areas - doesn't apply to more recent cleaner diesel variants

Worst of all is the lag throughout the drivetrain, not only does the turbo take a while to spool up but then you’ve got to wait for the torque converter to wake up.
What's the torque converted got to do with the fuel type? A torque converter which is slow to respond is equally likely to affect a petrol engined car.

How about the Cayenne S TDI sat on my drive way?

The V8 may be smooth but you’ll never get away from the diesel clatter, which is unacceptable in a car of this value.

Worst of all is the lag throughout the drivetrain, not only does the turbo take a while to spool up but then you’ve got to wait for the torque converter to wake up. Both together make for a synergy of ste.

Not to mention the fact I am only averaging 23mpg, may as well have a 4.8 petrol at least then you’d benefit from those sorts of consumption figures.
I'm afraid nothing in your description matches the Cayenne Diesel S that I have in my driveway fella. If you're only seeing 23mpg
there is something seriously wrong......

I've only driven a few hundred miles in the Cayenne Diesel S but I'm really impressed with the car's performance. It's a great car and hope it remains available with the next generation Cayenne.

I'll just leave the PH review here:

@Porsche CEO, Oliver Blume, in interview with @BILDamSONNTAG: "There will be no more diesels in the future from Porsche. We have never developed, produced diesel engines ourselves. Nevertheless, Porsche's image has suffered. The diesel crisis has caused us a lot of trouble."
