I can’t tell you to like a colour that you don’t but if you’re after a 997 that has to be a corker surely.

Thanks for the sensible reply, more than can be said for others. I would be interested to drive both with and without PASM, although that's not likely to happen unless I was genuinely thinking of buying.

PDK was on the second gen 997 from 2009 on it is well rated and I’ve not heard of reliability issues but the newer ones are supposed to have more instructive shift patterns / programming

For me but some of this is personal:

More power
Quad exhausts (don’t like the non S style)
PASM - standard mode more comfortable than std suspension
19” wheels much nicer design
Comes with some other nice spec, from memory electric seats and more leather

In the UK many more S than non were sold as the spec difference vs cost meant you almost got the extra power for free

The brakes are different too its not just colouring. I think the S shares discs and calipers with the 996tt.

Seats are the same in both - no difference.

Zenons standard on the S.

PASM has been mentioned but you could also spec the sports chassis which was 20mm lower and not active. Think GT3 ride height. Cant remember if this came with the lsd or that was separate. Was it called x73 or x74.

Then the holy grail option is the x51 power kit which was £8000 and ups the power from 355 to 380 I think. Best bit about this for me was the massive tricky looking carbon air box. It's almost too good to cover up with the boot lid.

I saw a 997 Targa once with power kit and ceramic brakes, think it was for sale at Virgin 911, a highly unusual spec!

Yes LSD was included

Was a NCO thought most opted for the PASM which was a new 997 feature

Great price, personally I would pay another £5k to not have that colour though, I’m sure others will not care or may even love it!

Probably when petrol cars are banned from most cities...! As in, i can't see anytime soon, if ever.
The 997.1 is still above 20k, above 30k for a 997.2.
The 991 is one of the best looking 911's, and last of the n/a 6.
Check out the 2 pages of 997.1 cars that are below £20k on A/T (17 of them):

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-search?sort=price...

Only 3 of them have 100k + miles on the clock.

There are even 2 x 997.1 Carrera S models for under £20k:
https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-search?sort=price...

There was no qualification about Cabriolet, tip etc. smile

There have always been 1-2 19k example, high mileage. The problem with these examples (mostly), just put them on a ramp in a local garage and inspect underneath.. Exhaust, manifolds, engine bay, gearbox and finally cooling parts and etc... I would be suprised if seeing "the to do list", anyone still willing the pay the asking price, sadly. rolleyes

My non-S Targa 997 had all of those.

Not the power surely?
Also, wouldn’t that have cost more to spec than an S presumably?
