From what I’ve read so far it looks like it’s getting pretty stellar reviews (apart from the interior in some cases).

What interests me though is that many reviewers are also raving about the looks (unlike on here). Is that because they’re not quite so used to seeing the beautiful old Vantage shape on a daily basis? Or is it time and familiarity just mellowing peoples views?

I think it might look different in the flesh. Aston Martin Manchester will have one on show this weekend, I'm going to pop in and have a look at it.

The journos love it, which is going to be great news for AM. They say its not as classic looking as the old Vantage & some minor comments re the interior but otherwise its a winner. AM must be delighted with the reviews. With prices starting at £120K & a reasonable spec car at £140K+ my V8VS manual at less than half the price looks incredibly good value. I'am sure residuals for the old Vantage is likely to be strong. But can't wait to test drive the new one.

When I was at the reveal at Gaydon, my initial thoughts were it looked a lot more aggressive than the outgoing Vantage - not as classic, the rear looks stongingly fabulous, nice interior but didn't like the front so much. It has a wide mouth & no grills on the bonnet. I like the grills on my V8VS laugh I'am sure though the more i see the new Vantage I will mellow my thoughts of the front.

The front isn't improving with time for me, infact it looks worse than ever in the picture the OP has used. Rear and rear 3/4 I like it, maybe I need to see one up close in the metal?

So when do the dealer drives happen for those who've put down deposits etc?

Am wondering what is being built at Gaydon in numbers at moment apart from DB11 Volantes as UK sales down at moment and DB11s a bit slow in some overseas markets?

What's the old saying when you've nothing nice to say about something....... is it to say nothing?

I think they are finishing off the Zagato’s, DB11’s V12 & V8, DB11 Volante and I would guess the first Vantage’s are now being made, whether that is dealer demonstrators or customer orders but think they will be pretty busy. They may also of course still be finishing off Vanquish Ultimates, AMR’s and any specials (Dreadnought etc). I should think they are being kept pretty busy.

Love the reviews! Carfection's by the great journo Henry Catchpole says it all:

It was partly becuase of Henry's writings in Evo that I ended up with a V8V last year. Must admit he's making me more tempted with the new one... dammit!

I think all this excellent press will make it a success. If not, there's little else AM could have done to make a go of it. Good luck to 'em!

Great reviews, great car. I wish some of them didn't feel the need to disparage the out going Vantage. For it's time it was a wonderful car.

I know what you mean... but if it wasn't a resounding improvement (in the reviewer's opinion, at least), it would be a disaster! A few have noted that the old model has superior feedback via the steering wheel. But I don't think many modern cars rate steering feedback as being a customer priority over, say, ICE / connectivity / blah, blah... Sadly.
