Sample of one, but mine is dry as a bone and approaching 120k miles. It did have a top-end rebuild around 10 years ago, as did a previous 993 of mine.

It is. Whatever a Mezger engine means, but near all GT3's and all 993's use the same crank case which is actually a 964 part numberlaugh
Apologies, when I say Mezger, I (rightly or wrongly) mean the watercooled ones i.e. pre-991 GT3 lumps and 996/997.1 turbo lumps. As I said, I'm not a mechanic and am only going on what I have noticed over the years.

They both sound like bargains in the current market.

If these prices were high everyone would be calling it the new price point.

But as it's lower than normal it's seen as a bargin.

The market is dropping and sellers need to accept that to make a sale they need to realign their expections.

Some stuff sold really well, a 991.2 GT3 touring, £191k after fees

89 turbo (5 speed) lick 44k miles £116k after fees

993 turbo S (proper) lick - 71k, yellow - £187k after fees

Yep, I agree.

From all the cars I have seen so far, most need a minimum of £5k spending on them, some up to £10k but the prices are not reflective of their condition.

Lots of dreamers out there and the ones who have taken care of their cars don't want to sell them (and who can blame them)

I’m selling a car at the mo, not a Porsche but my Maserati. Have had possibly 7-8 enquiries in 6 days. I’ve priced it as the cheapest one online except cat d write offs.

I think that cars do sell at the right price but many owners think that their car is worth the asking price of the most expensive one for sale in the country when the reality is that the ones that sell are likely the cheapest

Some stuff sold really well, a 991.2 GT3 touring, £200k after fees

89 turbo (5 speed) lick 44k miles £120k after fees

993 turbo S (proper) lick - 71k, yellow - £194k after fees
Exactly, that's where the market is for those models.

89 turbo with 44k and 993 turbo S are collection bound and the GT3 touring is premium at present.

Offered to me at £55k, I declined.
Then they INCREASED the price to £68k
Now they have REDUCED the price to £63k

This is what is wrong with the market!

Absolute joke!

Just a sales tactic in my view. Whack the price up and gradually reduce it to see if it attracts buyers.

There's a sub 100k (just), 993 C4 on the PCGB forum at the minute for £38k - bargain compared to the one above.

That looks lovely but £75k is a silly price.

I would rather buy the FULLY SORTED 3.8 one at RPM and have £10k change biggrin

Exactly! Can't drive it for fear of the 'value' dropping. Ironically the 993 benefits from being driven often too.

I think that whatever car I get I will have to spend at least £10 to £15k on it frown
