992 GT3 coming earlier than expected?
Discussion
Porsche always release shots just after every thing is sold, people said the GT4 was out 12 months ago, we still have no sign of it.
Thing is they prob sell more GT cars then normal 911 these days so easier to sell. And they need to make money, that’s their business not making cars! SUV sell the most.

Gotcha that makes sense. Plus they probably enjoy seeing how many letters of intent/offers of deposits (OPC don’t do that anymore?) come in for it even at this early stage to gauge the demand. Then again most of them have a ready list of regular GT customers or those That missed out on 991.2 allocations, gives them hope they won’t have to wait too long even though likely to be end 2021 at earliest I guess
Yep, according to this interview Porsche built approx 3-4000 GT cars last year, so not quite 10% of reg 911
"How many GT-series models did Porsche sell last year?
That’s something we don’t like to give away, but, say, at least 3,000 to 4,000 cars. The annual volume is rising, but by far not as much as the demand is rising for those cars. We still have to keep people wanting."

As for new 992 GT3 coming - IMO Porsche will bring it forward a year - with demand now so high for these cars it makes no sense to hold back

It's entirely logical they will continue with the nasp engine for the 992. The new engine has only been used in the 2 versions of 991 so it would seem likely there is further development to come. Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't AP even allude to this? Furthermore, the GT3 has carved out a nice little niche for itself by having one of the few remaining exotic nasp engines. No sense in it ever being turbo. However, in time, I'm sure we will see a hybrid version.
