Hi everyone,

Former Porsche owner, looking to come back into the fold, this time for my family with a Cayenne 2016 purchase having had my X5 stolen last week.

I've found what I think is a well specced black Cayenne Diesel S with about 17k on the clock, 2016 reg for about £49k.

Usually I would buy from a Porsche main dealer but I cant find the right spec and this car will have the balance of the original warranty to July next year, which provides me with the assurance that if it is a bad car, it will be covered by the warranty and then I will extend the warranty next July with Porsche.

If I buy from an independent garage, I assume that warranty stands? Also, they told me the service had been done earlier this year and then before putting down a deposit, they then said it hadn't been done (should have been done in July at 2 years old) - all strikes me as a bit odd, especially when they say they had a buyer last week who dropped out because of a "change in circumstances" but they still hadn't serviced the car. Is a service 2 months later going to void the warranty? My intuition tells me something isn't right here with the dealer and I'm sure they wouldn't have told me about the service had I not asked....

Thoughts welcome

Ring your local OPC and ask about the warranty...it must become an issue at some point but a month or two may not be an issue if it's below the 20k miles limit.Warranty is every two years or 20k miles. Great cars though!

Worth mentioning if 'they' service it, come renewal time the car will have to be serviced again at an OPC to get back onto Warranty. If it hasn't been done already insist it is serviced by an OPC as part of the deal.
