I just spent the morning driving a Taycan 4s with the upgraded battery. All I’ll say is wow. Hides the weight really well and the relentless surge is almost comical. I Reckon a lot of these will be stuffed in a field over the next few years...

I placed a £5k deposit last year the day they were announced....was told initially I’d have to wait a year if I wanted a Turbo. Then in Jan I was asked to send in my spec for a 4S/Turbo. Did that and heard nothing. Got a call in Feb saying I could have a Turbo S in June if I specced in 24 hours. Have since heard nothing. Going to given them a couple of weeks to see if they can remember how to sell cars....if they can’t I’ll cancel.

No clue what’s going on...have bought several cars from them in the past and always had good customer service.
Who was the dealer? Hatfield came good. I placed the £5k deposit on a Turbo back in July last year and changed to the 4S when it was announced in September. My deposit was the first and they delivered my car first. Service was not 100% as expected from a premium brand but no messing around in terms of my place in the queue.
I won’t say publicly and I think if I did It would get deleted under the “name and shame” policy.

Can I ask - is the extra a performance battery in the 4s a “must” in peoples opinion?

Yes..when there is eventually a fast charging network you cant utilise it fully without the additional battery.

Also I think it adds to residual value of you are financing

Yes, residuals on a PCP are higher which means that it is a desirable option.

That surprised me when i had a PCP quote from my OPC..No doubt Porsche consider it as important as the PDK box which is the only other option which adds to PCP residuals.

I've got a Taycan 4S arriving in October and after my test drive in one last Thursday i can't wait..! The demo was the same light blue as above and i thought it looked stunning in the metal..However since i'm currently going through a boring grey or black phase in my cars i've settled on Volcano Grey.
I've provisionally gone with 20'' wheels depite my strong preference for the Mission E 21'' wheels from a looks POV..Trouble is the 21'' rims really knocks the range which really rather defeats of an EV in the first place, so i think i'll stick with the 20'' ones.
Based on my drive i have to say its one of the most impressive and well rounded cars i've ever driven..The demo car was a 4S with Performance battery which provides more than plenty poke and any more is pure overkill IMO..I thought the Adaptive cruise was well suited to the Taycan and i've since added it to my spec.
I also think the Pano glass roof is a must have which i've also chosen. Ideal companion to my RS WP methinks..

Had the same dilemma with the mission wheels as they look great but too big a hit on the range for me.

I’ve got the Inno-drive which takes a lot of getting used to but I think it’s going to be great when I do.

Having not driven one before I took delivery the most surprising thing is how much wider it is than I expected. Also feels so nimble in the corners given how much it weighs. And fast. Brutally fast.

I have a couple of questions for you as i have a few days before my spec being locked..Has yours got Rear axle steering and i think you have 18 way seats..I had a strict budget which didn't stretch to RAS and i've gone for 14 ways..The demo i dove had both RAS and 18 ways which i loved so wondering if its a mistake to leave either off..

I’ve got neither of those options and didn’t have a test drive so don’t know what I’m missing. Just to say the standard seat is extremely good and I feel no need for extra adjustment and turning circle is fine.

For me the only must haves are performance battery, DC booster & sports chrono package.

I would highly recommend inno-drive but not essential.

Also definitely not essential but I would get the powered port cover. It’s works beautifully and just one of those things that puts a smile on your face.

And of course get a more adventurous colour wink

I picked up my 4s with performance battery earlier this week.

I test drove a car with RAS but don't have it on by car and don't miss it. I really like the 18 ways and would spec them again.

Must haves for me are:

Performance battery (on a 4s)
18 way seats
Folding mirrors
Matrix lights
Comfort access
Advanced climate control
Glass roof
Full leather interior (I have the two tone with really lifts the interior)
Electric sport sound (some people might not like it but I love it)
Wheels - I went for the 21 inch carbon blades and they are spectacular, take the car from nice to amazing looking
Sport chrono
Surround view
Seat heating
2+1 rear seat
Powered charging port cover (why would you not!)

What an everyday car the Taycan is. Makes everything else feel redundant for day to day use. Obviously it is not a characterful weekend toy (neither is a 992 now), you need something older or more raw to fill that slot.
