Anyone placed an Order for the Taycan yet?

As you asked for must have spec, "must" in my opinion:
Porsche Sport Sound
Inno drive
Passenger display
PDCC
heat pump
Range manager
Smart home energy manager
In hindsight I'm tee'd of that I didn't go for the noise insulating glass thing. Was still firmly in the petrol car world, but I think having even more noise insulation makes total sense in an electric car and would have been cool. Well, too late now.

Heat pump and Range manager are standard in UK spec.
Also home energy manager is great for those with three phase or with PV with the car at home during the day. Single phase homes without PV won't really see much benefit as there's not enough of a load to "smartly manage".
Out of interest, what do you use the passenger display for? Other than to make the centre section of the dash look more high tech!

Hadn't thought about the power thing, good point. My home energy manager is not installed yet (would be nice if that was shippe before the car, not with the car as you need a qualified electrician to install it), so I can't report anything yet... It cost quite a bit to get the power uprated and to put the cables into the garage, but alledegy I can now charge with 22 KW... Porsche still has some work to do with the chargers me thinks though...
I was being responsible today by going on an extended socially isolating hoon. I decided to drive to and around Lambourn - what a beautiful part of the world incidentally.
I stumbled upon somebody (Autocar, Evo at a guess) putting a coupe of Taycans through their paces.
One was a turbo (could not see if it was an S or not) but my word, they look amazing out in the ‘wild’.

OPC’s have cars available to test drive from next week I think.....launches were supposed to be end of the month. Not sure who will be doing accompanied test drives ! I stumbled upon somebody (Autocar, Evo at a guess) putting a coupe of Taycans through their paces.

Was discussing this at my local OPC yesterday. They have all the expected measures in place from the minute you approach the reception deck but haven't yet sorted accompanied test drive situation of S/H stock or the new car. Existing model demos can go out on loan and are cleaned inside once they return. Can’t see the Taycan launch evening events happening now either. David W. said:

Would be interested if anyone is buying a Taycan as a personal purchase rather than through a business. I’m interested in a 4S and weighing up outright purchase with risk on depreciation v a PCP. Anyone buying on a similar basis?
I’ve got an order in/paid a deposit but haven’t decided which model. Was waiting for OPC business manager to come back on some kind of finance package with some residual protection before the world stopped. Who knows what that looks like now...I don’t need a Taycan by any means but would quite like one. Minded to leave it and get the Turismo when it comes out which ultimately would be a better car for my needs.
Residuals on normal EV’s are very strong which combined with Porsche brand should bode well but it’s obviously an expensive car. But I think it’s an outstanding car from everything I have read

Did you get to collect? Cheers
Nope they could not get it sorted before lock down and no no idea when I get the car. Now thinking of cancelling though...business is closed and not sure when things will return to normal. Not sure I want to be spending £1400 a month on a car right now even with the benefits it brings through a Ltd company!

I'm definitely after a Turismo, but I imagine that's delayed well into 2021 now?Who knows what that looks like now...I don’t need a Taycan by any means but would quite like one. Minded to leave it and get the Turismo when it comes out which ultimately would be a better car for my needs.

I struggle to believe that I could get into a Taycan for a couple of years and then switch into a Turismo wthout suffering horrendous depreciation, even with 'strong residuals', but would love to be proved wrong - I imagine there will be a backlog of cars to be delivered and potentially a number of owners who for various reasons, unfortunately may now not be able to take delivery,
Any idea what % residual people have been offered after 2 or 3 years (and whether any credit is given for options)? May sample builds have been quite heavy on options (unless you go for the Turbo S, in which case you are at £150k!
Thanks.

We’ve ordered a 4S on a personal basis (now that insurance quotes seem to be coming down). I don’t much fancy being the one having to sell a 3y/o all-electric... being realistic I just don’t see who is going to want to buy them other than from a Porsche dealer and/or more confidence around the battery condition, replacement costs etc than I am going to be able to give. And that was before the world went into lockdown!PCP all the way on this one.
Going to be interesting to see what it’s like when available to drive and whether she changes her mind.

The enhanced battery on the 4S is an absolute must have both from a use and residual perspective....without it as and when it is available you can’t use the ultra fast charging. When I was given some examples of PCP/Residuals a few months ago on a % basis a sensibly specced Turbo had the best % residual which surprised me...but the 4S will be the volume model I suppose.Thanks.
I need to look closely at other electric cars residuals i.e. Tesla’s but I know what for smaller cars like the electric Golf they’re very strong.
But I’ll be honest I think there will be some bargains in much more interesting cars over the next 12 months so would rather spend the cash there I think and keep the Macan Turbo PP which is a fantastic car anyway.

4S without performance battery plus will still charge on IONITY, just max limit is 225kW instead of 270kW. Both are current limited but 4S without the performance plus battery runs a lower nominal voltage, hence slightly lower charging power.

I had a Turbo S on order. The options I'd selected made no difference and I was quoted a Guaranteed Final Value (Final Rental) of £79,800 over 3 years and £91,247.50 over 2.I'd already cancelled my order before Covid-19 became a global concern.
