Don’t know about the Tax question but I think the answer is “not as long as you’d think” Here’s Delivery mileage car at OPC Silverstone, quite often OPC’s owned by the big dealer groups advertise cars on their own group websites like this one that are new/nearly new and not on the Porsche website. No idea if that car is registered or not.....I use OPC Silverstone myself if you want the name of a good sales person try Craig Porter. No affiliation etc...

https://www.sytner.co.uk/car-search/12281390-14637...

On this thread people have posted of ordering cars for a couple of months delivery so worth ringing round.
Most if not ALL OPC's haver very Limited allocations for next year, 2020 delivery's were pushed forward somewhat.
For Q1 yes...because they got a lot of cars in Q4 to safeguard against a no deal Brexit. They’ll have the same amount of cars during 2021 as they normally do. I
I.e. Last years volumes plus a few percent. Specific models will be scarce because of how they get allocations as they always are....but that’s really for the Sports Cars.

There are 8 Taycan’s listed as AUC cars on the Porsche website with less than 1k miles that aren’t Demo’s. It’s very unlikely those are anything other than cars that OPC’s had as stock they couldn’t sell new so have registered them. E.g.

Not many people buy a Taycan Turbo and put 150 miles on it and then sell it

https://finder.porsche.com/gb/en_GB/Taycan-Turbo-2...

That tells me OPC’s aren’t selling all the new Taycan’s they get through. It’s been the same for the last six months....”nearly new” Taycan’s have been popping up all the time. That’s backed up by people who have posted on this thread previously about ordering cars for delivery within two or three months which is about as quick as you can expect a built to spec car.

I could be wrong but I assumed all these sub 1k mile Taycans were largely bought by people hoping to get 992 GT3 allocations and were simply spinning them out.

Trust me you won’t get a GT3 allocation by buying a Taycan! Maybe 3 Taycans in one hit, but not one.!

These cars your talking about will be either cancelled orders, reg’d motors.

I was offered a build slot today for delivery in April but I deferred (as I hand back another car in late June and don’t want a huge overlap for practical reasons). I’m assuming there was a big back log this quarter with people worried about tariffs- which is not longer a concern (at least for a few years!).

You'll get no discount. I placed an order for 2 back in early October and managed to squeeze ceramic coatings on them.

My October orders are due in first week in March. I'd speak to your local OPC for an idea on how long it will take them to get it. There's conflicting info all over the place, stories of people getting them in 2 months right up to people still waiting who ordered in the summer.

What spec have you gone for? Share the Porsche code?

Here's mine http://www.porsche-code.com/PM2JVW93 and I can't wait.

Seriously? £40k of options?
Wouldn’t you be better off with a Turbo and higher residuals?

Agreed, aren't most of those options standard on the Turbo/S?

+1 - either go heavily loaded and choose a "higher" model or go poverty spec on a "lower" model

Looking at the configurator, there is no steering wheel rim at all - imagine paying 40k in options but not getting a fully functional steering wheel wink

I'm not. You try and sell one second hand with no transferable tax benefits, as regards WDA.

I looked hard at these, which was challenging in itself.

Any thoughts on the non-S Taycan?

It’s a pretty massive drop in performance (almost half the torque). I’d hoped they’d put the Turbo S rear motor/inverter setup into it but it appears they haven’t.

Still does 0-60 in 5.5 secs which is perfectly acceptable for a four door car IMHO. I would have thought less weight and less power would have equalled a decent increase in range but it hasn’t. That is disappointing. A reliable 300 mile range would make a big difference

I don't know how reliable it is but people seem to be smashing the official range. IIRC Matt Farah did over 310 miles testing for Road and Track last year without trying.

True it’s not slow but has is dipped well under 200bhp/tonne which feels like a minimum bar for a Porsche.

I specced one last night to exactly the same as my 4S and it came to only £10k less. Still pretty convinced a 4S PB+ on 20'' rims for around £100k the sweet spot on the Taycans.

I managed to order a Turbo S for delivery in March. I went with a few options:

Black
Carbon Sport/Design Package
Dynamic Chassis Control
Exclusive LED headlights
Glass roof
Park Assist
Innodrive
Comfort access
4+1 Seats
Ambient lighting

I believe the car was destined to become a demo for the dealership, the manager agreed to sell which is lucky since delivery was predicted as 2022.
Bit of a change for me since I'm currently driving an 18 reg Discovery smile

I haven't even driven one, purchased off the back of feedback. This may sound a little crazy (not driving one) but I wanted to go all electric because of the company car/business benefits. And, even more shocking is that I've never driven an electric car! Finally, I bought via Zoom calls with the dealer, didn't go in..

The new normal!

I am a little concerned about the range but I will be ordering a proper home charger. I just think the answer is a bit more planning with respect to journeys until the charging network is improved.
