Mmmm - so my thinking is to sell my Boxster T now for whatever, go cold turkey for a year (ish) and then try to pick up an x demo or one year old 4.0 GTS down the line. Been hit 3 times in the last few years on new Porsche depreciation.

I had been waiting for this to replace my Boxster 981 'S'
but I do not want a manual.
Any news on a PDK version?

Porsche tweeted a pic of a dash with GTS 4.0 on the dials and a PDK shifter in shot the other day. Not sure if it was intended or a social media intern messing up, but it’s definitely coming. Given that something like 80% of Coxsters are PDK it would be financial suicide to only offer manual.

It’s the flat-four 718 GTS owners that I feel sorry for, their car has just shat £10k overnight. Absolute opposite situation to the 991 where there was a very short run of now-sought-after n/a GTS models.

You're probably not alone. I was told that PDK is expected and has already generated a lot of interest.
So, if you are keen and it's as good as anticipated, then probably best to stake a claim near the front of the queue.

Indeed, this is quite highly specced up and must have been over 72k list and is up for 62k with 1500 miles at an OPC. So what's that trade? 50k?

That's before the 4.0ltr even arrives and gets tested by the journalists.

I have been told today that the PDK version is 12 months away or maybe 2020 Q4 at a push.

I would expect it to be sooner than that.
Apparently some Porsche in-house information shows it in 718GTS pictures and diagrams.

The 4 pot GTS still a cracking car, but the 4.0 could be a potential great, especially with the manual box.

OPC’s are great at making you think you’ll have to wait for ages for something in the hope you give up and buy something that’s available to order now to tide you over while you wait - double bubble smile
