Does your Stop/Start actually kick in? [Macan]
Discussion
I have no issues using this function in town - it reduces consumption and pollution at traffic lights. I have mapped the button on the steering wheel to disable it, say when at the mouth of a busy roundabout. But I find mine rarely kicks in on any journey under 30 mins.
Engine is up to temperature very quick in this car, I'm not in any Sport mode, battery full, air-con off, cabin at temperature - but it will just light the yellow Stop/Start symbol signaling a refusal to switch it off.
I'd love to know the reason for this refusal. Anyone else? (it's a 2017 Macan Turbo pp)

In my 991s the stop start rarely engages in winter,
I usually have to drive for at least 30 mins before anything happens.
I believe the battery, plus other systems are constantly monitored and need to be in a certain condition before stop start kicks in, so at this time of year due to the colder weather and the greater draw on the battery it won't be as likely to operate as in the summer
I know if I've had my trickle charger connected for a few days, the first run after this it will usually work but still only after the engine is properly warmed up.
wife's 992 kicks in halfway through 5 mile commute - it's not too annoying, its quite a smooth catch - her previous 718 Cayman GTS was nightmarish when it kicked in and out, horrible rumble, I would have to turn it off, and I like the quiet of stop/start in constant London traffic. The Cayenne Hybrid is lovely though - the way it manages the battery/engine usage is very well worked out.
