Great advice and which i heeded when i was taught to ride a horse fifty years ago..I had a Palomino Arab cross horse which had a nasty habit of bucking when going faster than walking speed which resulted in me being sent airborne more times than i can remember..I always got back in the saddle straight away and eventually ended up being a very proficient rider..Sorry to go off subject, its just your comment made it all come rushing back.

Not sure i understand your theory of more air in taff, how does the fiat tyre temp work,i guess it gives you a overall temp to tell you they are hot rather than contact temps.
Sorry to hear it ben,i also remember shell corner i was in the same race ,great parking that was
low profiles with loads of grip,when they let go they let go with out much warning or feedback compared to slicks,I have refrained from adjusting my car at the mo to see what its like on factory settings reset for sunday coming,and intend to learn the car steadily with probably some short comings.
A pyro on road tyres is a waste of time unless you have some one in the first pit box to jump on the outside tyres As you steam in,road tyres loose heat very quickly unlike slicks where a pyro can be more accurately used.
The end of the day they are road cars for fun and challenge not race cars, hopefully you will get it repaired quickly and get back out.Watch your incar and see what happened!
I left a hillclimb track last year at 105 mph over the finish line ,the play back showed alittle understeer from a cross wind,full standing corn with a big scar through it,my car full of corn with front bumper and ali undertray ripped off!Car got nicknamed weetabix
Can never understand Porsche not giving contact temps with the pressure, its a great tool as each tyre has a sensor.My experience with Cups is that the pressure rises very quickly, looking at pic below air needed taken out although the tyres were not hot, 2.2 I find as the sweet spot for Cups, they started at 2.2 cold all around.The CS has a 19 tyre against a 20 rear giving the front better grip and turn in hence more heat after half an hours fun. I run the fronts of the GT3 at 2 bar and rear 2.1bar cold, in the summer temps they are not long coming up to 2.2 front and 2.3 rear which I find perfect for my road driving.

Well, I did win the first two races on the day, so it wasn't all bad...The resulting effect on my ego might possibly have contributed to the ridiculous decision to borrow Stephen A's road wheels (the ones he'd driven up on) to race in that all-comers thing after I realised it was for treaded tyres and I didn't have any. Funny how rock-hard 888s don't really compete with cut slicks. I should have just scratched; instead I overdrove like I have never overdriven before, the pedal went to the floor at the kink (the friction material had come off the pads on both fronts) and that was the end of that.
To be fair, anything under 2:50 is a good time.
The best I've seen so far is 2:48 in my GT4 before the engine mods ... but with the suspension mods.
Spa is a fabulous circuit but one which can easily catch you out --- speaking as one who has spun through 180degrees out of Eau Rouge and gone up Radillion backwards --- I ran the paint kerb in the wet in a 964RS, and with a passenger in the car !
It's never a happy situation when one is asking the passenger how far you are off the concrete wall going backwards up the Kemel Straight ...

Glad you're OK though and mainly a bruised wallet/ego.
If it's any consolation I've also had a brief excursion into the gravel around Campus because I confused it with the next, much wider corner....and I had a member of the track day staff in the car!! VERY bruised ego....
It was a super hot day last week and our cup 2s were twitchy until we ran v low pressures in my .2 then they settled down. SO much rubber around too which definitely won't have helped.
